I love the dead space series, and will probably get the third game once it is like $15 on steam. I never buy DLC, its like getting an extended warranty on products. It serves no purpose until it is too late.

In my opinion there's really no place for microtransactions in the single player part of a game.

Whether or not either of us feel deadspace pulled it off, it is still probably an unhealthy direction for game design to be heading in. Especially for AAA titles that already cost £50.
Do you have any evidence that these are the same people? Is the link causal? Perhaps the "freemium" demographic at large have a demonstrably and predictably different view of gaming?

You are making the assertion, you can either support it with evidence or reasoning or it may as well be worthless.

I have a bunch
From the above quotes I see the following as implying that the game will be bad:
Xnine, for not liking the way they used Genesis in the commercial.
J3st3r, seemingly didn't like neither the first nor the second installment of the game, so why should he like the third?
ILoveHighDPI, predicts a FTP future for DS3, this had a sweet aftertaste of sarcasm.

So yeah, I guess you're right since 3 out of 123 comments were actual critique of the game, and the vast majority of the remaining was hate raining down over the micro transactions.

And the joke you told where critique of the game doesn't exist outside this thread is also funny.

I still had two hours before my shift starts, so yes I did in fact go through 123 posts to make a reply.
I never said critique didn't exist outside this thread. But I realise now that I have to be much more specific when expressing my opinion.

Down boys, down.

Just talking about the Micro-transactions. People in the "Dead Space 3 is..." thread are actually having a civil conversation about how fun the game is, how it's actually utilizing their hardware, and how UNinvasive the micro-transactions are.

That's too bad looks like EA finally is starting to ruin dead space. I suppose it was inevitable.

Not sure if its been mentioned but you can buy some of the weapon and resource packs with seals you earn IN GAME, or you can pay the 3 bucks or whatever, to get it instantly.

You will earn seals fast enough to buy the packs pretty regularly... i've already bought 3 of the 60 seal packs and i'm only halfway through the game.

the other stuff, like the suits, are cosmetic and offer no gameplay benefits... even the weapons aren't any better than what you can already make in-game.
