End Game will come as part of Premium right?

The DLCs, just like the one mentioned by OP are nice, especially Aftermath and and Armored Kill but if the game's fundamentals are broken, it simply wouldn't work.
Hit detection isn't a problem as much as say...suppression. They refuse to get rid of it lol, it's so sad because it's the only thing that really breaks BF3 for me. The game has fun vehicle gameplay but the combination of suppression + hit registration makes the actual GUN combat absolute garbage compared to any other competitive shooter out there, and I would've thought getting the gun mechanics in a first person shooter would've been first priority lol.

I love playing as a sniper but someone randomly spraying in my direction is enough to completely destroy my aim for a good several seconds, which blows my mind. I remain suppressed for several more precious seconds even after the enemy has stopped firing at me, even if I have KILLED the enemy who was suppressing me. I fall into a routine while I'm sniping along the lines of this:

> Take a shot, kill target
> Enemy fires at me, narrowly misses me
> I'm SUPPRESSED! All my bullets will magically bend away from where I'm aiming (WHAT)
> Get behind cover, look at the ground, count to 5 so I can aim straight again
> Go around corner
> Enemy sniper narrowly misses me
> Oh noes, I'm SUPPRESSED!
> Get behind cover, look at the stupid ground again, count to 5, wait for screen to become clear so I can aim straight
> Seriously???????

Someone runs around the corner and completely misses me, but despite his pathetic aim my OWN aim is now also pathetic because I got "suppressed" and now both of us are spraying at each other like mad in the vain hope that our bullets travel in a straight line before our magazines run out.

What an utter garbage mechanic.

You do realize that the mechanic is working exactly like it should with the way you're describing it right....? I think it's a fantastic mechanic and of course someone would get suppressed and want to keep their head down if you have bullets whizzing in your direction whether it's random or aimed. Most of modern firefights are all about suppress and manoeuvre. Unfortunately, unless you have a couple of friends/clan mates to actually co-ordinate such tactics you just get all the rambo pubbers running around thinking it's Call of Duty.

If those people are suppressing you like that, then they're playing right. I know "it's just a game", but adding in a mechanic like that that forces you to move your position because it's not like anybody really fears being killed in a game is fantastic. I commend DICE on the suppression mechanic and think it adds another tact of play to every other FPS out there on the market (I'm sure there are other games that have a similar mechanic. Red Orchestra 2 comes to mind).

It will be interesting to see what DICE brings with End Game. The dirt bikes will be pretty fun nonetheless.

What an utter garbage mechanic.

Lets take a minute and think about that. A modern LMG has an effective range of ~500m so thats not an issue. That guy is suppressing you with a LMG, bullets flying all around you narrowly missing you by inches, and you are trying to take a precision shot at them with a rifle? I think suppression makes perfect sense that your aim is totally screwed up. Your being shot at with full auto fire, theres no way your going to sit there while this happens and continue to zero in with a 12x scope and hit them with one shot.

I think you would appreciate using an LMG much more than a sniper. I primarily use LMG with suppression, M145, Bipod, and extended mag against snipers and dominate them at ranges spanning over 500m easy all day long. Once you start sending rounds down at them, they are effectively suppressed, and will either get wounded / die or run like hell so your team can move up. Not to mention how effective it is against multiple targets compared to a bolt action rifle.

Maybe someone like myself ruins your sniper camp so you don't like it?

FYI I've spent more time shredding people with bipodded M240B than anything else, lately I've only taken up sniping because it's actually a CHALLENGE to play effectively in this game due to suppression affecting snipers by far the worst and dealing with bullet drop/travel time. Snipers use single-shot weapons and missing each bullet comes at a price unlike LMG spamming...and it's satisfying to take out LMG users with 4x scope on a bolt-action rifle (no scope glint giving me away). With LMG+bipod you basically need to constantly have ONE direction where the enemies are coming from, if they come from anywhere else then you're gone. Also run'ngun with an LMG effectively is near impossible due to their horrific accuracy.

Anyway my point still stands that suppression is stupid and has no place in a first person shooter videogame. I'm not scared of incoming bullets, I'm a war veteran. Bullets actually HITTING me could throw-off my aim, but bullets missing me should NOT affect my aiming ability. It's retarded.

Here's a golden example: You can be 100% safe laying prone behind cover with bullets flying just 1 foot over you or nearby you (but you know you're safe)...but you're still SUPPRESSED for some utterly retarded reason. I'm NOT suppressed, the guy has no chance of hitting me because I'm behind cover! He's busy shooting at my nearby friends, not me! Why can't I shoot straight, what nonsense??

Also suppression rewards points which is even more retarded, because I guarantee you that 90% of the times "Suppression Assist" was just some guy spraying at the enemy but missing (probably due to being suppressed themselves by someone else who is spraying). I don't know which universe DICE were living in when they thought suppression would be used to only purposefully suppress people.

Sorry but it's not working as intended the majority of the time (i.e. in public games) needs to be deleted so people are greatly rewarded for having good aim and NOT rewarded for having bad aim. You know, the whole point of an FPS game.

So far people have only brought up 1 genuine reason for suppression existing: "It's unique to BF3 bro". Indeed, I WONDER WHY rolleyes.gif

I do it quite frequently to great effect with or without the suppression perks.

Example: If theres 3 snipers caming in the towers on Gulf of Oman, I can stop all 3 of them from attempting to shoot me and my team with my LMG easily. Quite often I see them bail and parachute away after a minute or so of their camp being ruined and they go do something else or find a new spot to get killed at. If me laying down heavy fire at the enemy can help my team succeed, I am completely satisfied with my gameplay.

I just don't see the point of disadvantaging yourself with a rifle when you could use a machine gun. 2cents.gif

Now Endgame is going to focus on Air Deathmatch.

BF3 was alright but I only really liked the first expansion

You barely even tried the DLCs and you call them crap?

B2K wasn't any better than the others. They all have faults. B2Ks was having maps without an uncap.

CQ was the only DLC to introduce a lot of new guns into the game along with the Gun Master game mode which now allows admins to create custom gun lists.

AK added new vehicles and two of the most stunning maps in BF3.

Aftermath was another well rounded expac like B2K. Savenger was okay but no one really plays it except to unlock the crossbow.

Endgame certainly looks promising.

An aside to those complaining about hit detection: Every time you get killed behind cover, some other player gets killed behind cover by you. It's the nature of the game and it allows someone with 5ms and someone with 250ms to play on the same server without one having a huge advantage.

All the BF3 expansions have been great so I'm definitely looking forward to End Game.

So anyone else think all the haters that pop out of the woodwork on any BF3 thread are just people who get owned and are raging?
