[IGN] Battlefield 3 End Game DLC Adds Air Superiority Mode - Page 8

Supply drops/vehicle drops (not the crap we're getting in End Game where you have to control a particular flag to get the vehicle dropship).

Team assets. (Destroy enemy radars, UAV, supply drop capabilities, artillery equipment if that's in)

A more commander-like squad order system (BF2) where squad leader can request orders, pin specific orders on map.

Expansion(s) that are much more feature packed (BF2 Special Forces) and not just new maps with a few new weapons, skins, and dogtags. Really. They could have at least given us a new gadget for each class. Turret for engineer, maybe a radar jammer for Recon, grappling hooks/ziplines/tear gas.

A much more vigorous patching process. I still don't comprehend why the PC platform has to wait for consoles to have their patches ready before getting a major PC patch. Wasn't the entire purpose of Battlelog to make the update process seamless and to bring speedier patching? I remember them hyping Battlelog (when the community was already moaning about not having an in-game browser and whatnot) because it would allow them to change any element in the game very quickly and easily. (Will find a DICE/EA source saying this in a minute). So where is this supposed thing that made Battlelog so amazing? I'm seeing nothing but slow patches every few months that break some things and/or remove some elements that no one asked to be removed (gunner flares).

I'm not too picky about this one but: better variety in weaponry. Pretty much every assault rifle in BF3 acts and feels the same, with the vanilla weapons (M6A3) being pretty much the best and easiest by a big margin.

I agree with you on all accounts here, but the PC doesn't have to wait for the consoles to have their patches ready, all patches are developed simultaneously, the thing is, since deploying a patch via Origin costs them around ~$55 grand, they wait until the next expansion pack is ready so they can get them out all together. It comes down to saving money, which is pretty lame if you asked me.

And on the guns, I don't think they all feel the same way, there's a noticeable distinction between most ARs.

But yeah, a new BF game with all the things you mentioned would be pretty sweet.

B2K was pretty damn good and had a good balance of everything.

Close Quarters was focused on Infantry deathmatch

Armored kill was focused on Vehicle deathmatch

Never really played aftermath, seems like it was focusing on deathmatch again.

Now Endgame is going to focus on Air Deathmatch.

BF3 was alright but I only really liked the first expansion

Note how battlefield 3 offered everything. Stop complaining.

Snipers use single-shot weapons and missing each bullet comes at a price unlike LMG spamming...and it's satisfying to take out LMG users with 4x scope on a bolt-action rifle (no scope glint giving me away). With LMG+bipod you basically need to constantly have ONE direction where the enemies are coming from, if they come from anywhere else then you're gone. Also run'ngun with an LMG effectively is near impossible due to their horrific accuracy.

Anyway my point still stands that suppression is stupid and has no place in a first person shooter videogame. I'm not scared of incoming bullets, I'm a war veteran. Bullets actually HITTING me could throw-off my aim, but bullets missing me should NOT affect my aiming ability. It's retarded.

Here's a golden example: You can be 100% safe laying prone behind cover with bullets flying just 1 foot over you or nearby you (but you know you're safe)...but you're still SUPPRESSED for some utterly retarded reason. I'm NOT suppressed, the guy has no chance of hitting me because I'm behind cover! He's busy shooting at my nearby friends, not me! Why can't I shoot straight, what nonsense??

Also suppression rewards points which is even more retarded, because I guarantee you that 90% of the times "Suppression Assist" was just some guy spraying at the enemy but missing (probably due to being suppressed themselves by someone else who is spraying). I don't know which universe DICE were living in when they thought suppression would be used to only purposefully suppress people.

Sorry but it's not working as intended the majority of the time (i.e. in public games) needs to be deleted so people are greatly rewarded for having good aim and NOT rewarded for having bad aim. You know, the whole point of an FPS game.

So far people have only brought up 1 genuine reason for suppression existing: "It's unique to BF3 bro". Indeed, I WONDER WHY rolleyes.gif

sounds like supression is working like they intended, the whole point of the system is to simulate supression, just bluring the screen isnt enough as anyone can still just take the shot fine. They want you to relocate or get behind cover, you are not supposed to keep shooting. If this was a real battle your soldier would fear bullets or at least be distracted by them, in bf you will respawn if you die anyways so you don't care if your being shot at. I can understand what they tried to do and honestly people should be used to it by now.

That tear gas, in the place of suppression would be great. A cloud that lingers for a bit and matches the effects of the current suppression.

LOL at people who dislike bf3 JUST because it doesnt have VOIP lol ... NO ONE USES IT LOL unless you play rambo ...

that aside ... the feature would be a + and not a main feature of the game ...

what would be a important feature is a "kick high ping" people lol , that would be awesome

in game voip is still needed, sometimes you squad up with random people and if they aren't in your vent/mumble/ts you can't talk to them, having voip there is nice, we also used to use the voip while we were in vent with friends who were on the opposite team in vent with us but we didn't want them to hear strats or whatever, it has it's place

BF3 is the best FPS war GAME ever MADE period, and there is someone talking about the DLC all of them has been good, and END GAME looks promising just because we are going to get a DROPSHIP with vehicle dropping capabilities.

This.

Bottom of the leaderboard players always complain.

Has a DICE game ever been perfect? Nope.
The same stuff that was broken in previous BF games is broken now. Why the shock? rolleyes.gif

They casually play and complain. Go back to that RPG/MMO you love so much.

Glad to see some people in here who can actually see things as they are. BF3 is amazing, the gunplay is the best I've seen in a tactical shooter ever. The one big suppression patch took it too far but they at least fixed it.

Can't wait for End Game and BF4.

Looks awesome. Although I hope there are enough jets to go around. Tank superiority is pretty lame since there aren't enough tanks to go around, so the mode is pointless.

To all the people whining about hit detection, get better. The game has good hit detection and hit boxes. Way better than BF2/Bad company 2(the game you all seem to profess unending love for, which has worse hit detec). I must be the only one who actually remembers how bad BC2 was in this department.

I bet that half of the people complaining about "hit detection ugh" and "origin bad!" are playing the game right now.thumb.gif
