I'm trying to setup my server but it's not finding any drives with the AOC-SAS2LP-MV8 I'm assuming this is because i don't have the drivers installed. I want to get the latest from the website but when i go to driver and download the Zip how do i install it? as i dont see any exe. I'm running windows 2008 R2.

Nevermind i done it through device manager and choose the folder for it to pickup. However its still not picking up my drives am i doing something wrong?

First you will want to extract the folder. Right click on it and extract. Then to install the driver go to device manager and find the card it should have a yellow ? on it. Right click and update driver software. Navigate to where you extracted the files and point it to the Win7_Win2008_Vista_storport folder. It should find what it needs in there.

So the card is being recognized, but not the drives? Freshly formatted or do they have data on them? Is the firmware updated also? Finally are you sure it's the SAS2LP-MV8 and not the SASLP-MV8,the key being the 2 for version 2,theres a difference with the drivers & firmware.

1. How do i tell if it is recognized?
2. They have Data on them.
3. How do i update the firmware. When i try and run the 2 exe it displays this version of the file is not compatable with this version of windows.
4. Yes this is the the 2nd version.

Please help I'm not sure where i'm going wrong.

You should go into the RAID utility for the card and check the status of the drives that way. If they are visible in the management utility you will probably have to initialize them ( aka format ) them for the volumes to be accessible.

1-Check in device manager.
2-May need to be formatted.
3-Is there a software utility that came with the Card or a CD you could use to install drivers/software utility?
What size hard drives are you using? There seems to be a lot of problems with this card & windows. Is this the same drivers you used? HERE When your installing the drivers are you pointing it to Win7_Win2008_Vista_storport folder after you have extracted it? Firmware can be updated through BIOS & a USB drive. But I would try to just see if I could get the drivers installed first.

Check over these post might be something to help you out.
