I would just watch your vtt volts and stay within Intels recommended voltage ranges and you should be fine. Been running my 920 at 3.8 ghz and getting bored with it. You will too.

I think the CPU is the last thing to go out.

your good until it becomes obsolete and budget CPU becomes better and cheaper.

6-7 years ago i had the E8400 and i cant see myself using it still.. but its still running strong at 4Ghz. cousin has it now.
he actually leaves it on 24/7 too and games frequently before.

I'm not sure about going past 1600mhz. Maybe just slightly. Would depend on vtt volts. I thought though 1600mhz was the sweet spot for the 920. I'm at 1600mhz with just +75 vtt volts and I'm happy as the heat output is manageable. Once you up those volts you better be under water!

Good old i7s are tanks. With those voltages, I don't see it having issues lasting a while. Some guys here are still running theirs from when they first got them 3 years ago at 4GHz no problems.

Had a Q6600 that I ran at 3.6GHz (from 2.4) at 1.375v 24/7 stable. Had that thing for about 3 years.
