For competitive gaming I would recommend the Astro A40's.

This is the exact pair that I'm using right now.

Astro is sponsored by MLG and alot of the MLG series that you watch the live streams from are using the A40's.

-Halo series

DO NOT BUY THE ASTRO A40 2013 Editions.. TERRIBLE HEADSET..

I purchased them and the mic did not work out of the box. I had to wait literally a month and a half for a reply from customer support for a new one. When the new one came in.. everyone complained it was too low and I adjusted galore, no help. I even have a popping and lost of sound out of the right earcup. I'm going to receive a refund and ship them back. Worst purchase for $250 I ever made.
