120hz + 60hz same time

Hello

i was about to buy new 120hz monitor for gaming and keep my old one for browsing watching videos etc while gaming, but i read somewhere that probably 120hz and 60hz wont run same time, since GPU will give only one signal either 60 or 120 so i want to confirm it before i buy one

i would also want a advice from people here, i usually play mmos on my PC and some RPGs so would i be better with IPS over the 120hz monitors?

Thanks in advance

I can't speak to the 60vs120 issue but as for the genre and which panel to go with...if I played MMO/RPG games I would get a nice 27" IPS panel over a 120hz. The 120hz is very nice (I use one 23") for FPS games as you can get more than 60 fps and the 3D gimmick is cool every once in a while but sometimes you can just tell that the color isn't as good as with the IPS panels. It's more functional imo while the IPS would be pretty damn stunning.

I have a 120hz monitor and 60hz monitor running at the same time, it may depend on your video card as I know some people that have had problems getting 120hz to work with two monitors on at the same time.

your cards will read them and work the the minimal compatible level. that would be the 60hz

EDIT: that being because the 120hz can run at 60hz
