EA's flippant response to winning the most hated company in the US shows just how much they care about their PR. The EA culture only cares about their bottom line.

The support for retrieving my hacked Origin account and the recent facepalming "support" that I received from them with troubleshooting my Burnout Paradise PS3 connectivity issues really turned me off from them. I rarely buy EA games, but after the recent disappointing support, I'm only buying their games used. that way they don't get any of my money.

Well I for one was a huge mass effect fan and loved the RPG form they had and hated how EA butchered the game

This is wonderful news! I hope EA gets what they deserve!

Kind of expected, since shovelware won't sell on name alone.

I'm sorry to the people working for EA, but it's a necessary evil. This company needs to go under. I know, very selfish and evil, but what else can we hope for now?

Fool me once EA, shame on you.
Fool me twice EA, shame on me.

EA better not go under, as much as they suck and annoy us all with their crap, we need EA to stay alive. Especially since THQ has gone under. Lose EA as well and the industry will be crippled. Reason being, most of the popular IP's that EA has will be bought up (ie. Battlefield, Dead Space, FIFA, Madden, Mass Effect), however any new IP`s they have in the works for the next generation of consoles (which you can bet your bottom dollar that EA have a few new IP`s in the works) will almost all be lost.

That means good developers lose jobs, more studio closures (last thing the industry needs right now), and worst of all, less products out there for consumers to purchase.

Plus, lets be honest, EA has improved over the last few years from where they were say 5 years ago. Most people completely overreact to this Origin business and just hate on it because its the cool thing to do. I know we are all disappointed in recent times with DLC schemes, however EA is not alone in this (Activision, Ubisoft, 2K can all be thrown into the mix) but sadly EA seems to cop the most flak for it.

But to say you hope to see EA go under is short sighted and ridiculous. What EA really needs is a change in management (as do all the big publishers) so that they can push out the businessmen who sit in high places and replace them with people who have a genuine passion for gaming. Sadly the people in charge of companies like EA, Activision and Ubisoft are all businessmen. They are there to make profits, which is why we get more and more souless crap released. What they don`t realise is that people buy GOOD games, not generic rubbish (I know there is a lot of COD hate but there are far worse games out there).

Case in point; the new MoH from EA is sighted as one of the main reasons for these results. Why did it fail? It had a huge marketing campaign, it had hype, it was developed by a well-known developer that has released several award winning games over the years (Danger Close used to be called DreamWorks Interactive and EA Los Angeles and also merged with Westwood Studios) but the main reason it failed was because the game was generic rubbish. Basically, the businessmen at EA thought that if they can essentially make a CoD clone, market the crap out of it, get in some navy SEALS to make an "authentic" experience and slap that branding everywhere they could, then they thought it would make money. Rather than realising that good games make money (just look at GTA as an example) and ultimately, EA just needs a change in management to turn things around.

You have got to be kidding...EA are just as bad, except they've got more people who don't look at what they do with certain kind of things.
EA have removed access to games because of forum comments, and banned for completely asinine reasons, (Although the most recent was a bug in forum software) they've also made The Sims franchise a massive cash cow and ruined countless other franchises in the name of profits.

Until EA makes some HUGE changes, I will still not buy anything from them. They need to put out some quality stuff without trying to suck the consumer dry of all their money. ME3 was one of my most anticipated games but I did not get it because I refuse to support EA in any way. I'll miss out on Dead Space 3 too. They are still going in the wrong direction imo.

At what point does legitimate hate turn into bandwagon hate? What has EA done to redeem themselves? Merely saying that other companies do the same sorts of things doesn't make EA any less scummy.
