I had 6570 crossfire for about 6 months i did notice some screen flickering while using safhire trixx.....then i switched to a single 7770 in hopes of crossfiring but that card was a huge dissapointment so i took it back! Currently runnuny 6870 crossfire and overclocking using amd engine suitte and i couldnt be happier hobestly! Keeps all my games at 60 fps maxed out at 1900x1080 resolution! Iam a amd fan for life.6870 cf got some muscle! I hope to try out the 6970 cf pretty soon!

I got a AMD 7950 and I have some issues with stuttering specifically in BF3. It was awful, but I reinstalled and it got better. I'm not sure yet if it's the card/drivers or that some old Nvidia software is interfering.

But, where the card works... it's brilliant.

The last ATI card I bought was when they made the All In Wonder cards...Ya know the ones that had a TV tuner built in....I dont remember the exact chipset that was with it, however it was easily 7-8 years ago....Ever since I bought a 6800GT, I never looked back on Nvidia. From there I went 2 7600GT's in SLI, then an 8800GTS, 570, 2 580's sli, and now sitting one 2 670's in SLI... <3 them cards...

Just going with what I familiar with really...Its not that I dont like AMD/ATI cards, its just that I am not familiar with them, plus I like to Fold, and Those 670's fold like kings.

i have not pegged it yet . . .

played c3 yesterday and though my fps dips to the 30s - it was smooth. i am still at 13.1.

uninstalling old drivers through Device Manager only. none of those driver sweeper crap.

edit: bf3 MP is smooth as well with the gpu at stock and my chip at 4.5. never goes down 60fps at 1080 ultra and 4msaa..

I've never had any issues with Nvidia or AMD (other than a dead old nvidia 6800xt...)

I'm satisfied with both brands, but definitely more so with AMD. Nvidia has seriously turned me off with all the crap they're pulling.

I have flickering in desktop every now and then because of the 120 Hz.
Skyrim with some ENB mods is not always compatible with AMD cards as some of them increase the stuttering for me, never had this problem with Nvidia cards, I also had the white/ black triangles that appear to me from time to time, but they seem to be fixed with 13.2
But still those are not enough reasons for me to leave AMD. The 7950 is a much more fun card to play with than my old GTX 670 biggrin.gif.
Also now I can freely install texture mods because of the 3 GB, I am happy now they fixed Skyrim with 13.2 Beta drivers.
But I have to say I am a late customer. My issues didn't take too long to be fixed (purchase the card late December) so I don't know if my feelings would change if I purchased the card early and the issues took too much time to be fixed.
But I understand your frustration and tiredness with the issues you are facing, and I am very sorry for that.

I'm going to change the name of the thread, to only include 7xxx series owners. Because even I was happy with my old set up. I think that all the issues now, are mainly for the new owners. thumb.gif

I´ve had my 7950 for about ~7 weeks now and I´ve been very happy. There are/were some issues with Far Cry 3, but seems like never driver-sets fix a lot of those, I can run that game with shadows on high, MSAAx2 everything else maxed with no problems. Other games, like BF3 with fps capped to 60 (srsly, if you get stuttering in BF3, just cap your fps, it DOES help) run so smooth that I have no idea how it can get any smoother than that, also overclocking these cards is very easy and you can get some nice performance gains with little bit of tweaking.

Havent had any weird desktop-crashes, artifacts, freezes etc, everything (outside of little bit of issues with FC3) has been working flawlessly, personally I´m (still) going to recommend ppl buying these cards based on my own expierences.

BTW it seems like ppl with multi-GPU setups are having more of these problems than ones that are running single-gpus?

I've had X300, 3850, 4850, CF 4830's, 4890, 6850, 7950 and have never had a single driver or card problem. Take that as you will. I'm using three of the cards on that list at this moment.

Over 200 games in my Steam account.

Using Quad-Fire 4X7970 at 7680X1600 with 3X 30'' HP ZR30w. Really complicated set-up.

Perfectly happy with it. Playing all my games smooothly... and having fun. smile.gif
