[GameSpot] Battlefield 4 to be shown off by EA in the next three months - Page 24

I love the frostbite engine, and a 3 year turnaround on the series, is actually not that bad.

I am really hoping for a BF3142...I hoping for a lunar map with low gravity...perhaps a Mars map...maybe even toss in some aliens.

And give me some lasers or something. That was my one and only let down for BF2142 (Well beyond Punk Buster being a steaming pile). The weapons were not really all sci-fi and high tech. They had anti-gravity and EMP pulse tech, but all of the guns were something that could exist in real life today. However, BF2142 has become my benchmark for all shooters I will ever play. That is what they will have to meet or exceed for me to consider them awesome.

They're actually not. They're going to continue support for up to a year after the final pack comes out which is fine. You do realize that pretty much every Battlefield game has followed this release schedule, right?

I've barely mentioned ArmA at all.

I'm a "hater" in that I don't like Battlefield 3.

You went as far as to say BF3 was nearly as bad as the WarZ. You're a hater.. Even if you don't like it (which is fine.. I don't like a lot of things that other people like, I don't go around saying they're bad, though.. 'cept WarZ, but that's actually a really bad game), it's far from being that bad and as far as I've seen, it's mostly based on the fact the now larger community doesn't like to work together which is why I was bringing up BF2 earlier, showing you that has always been a problem. It's not the game's fault for people not working together. Only certain games can get away with forcing team-work, like extremely tactical games, but Battlefield has never been about that and if they tried, there would be a lot more people hating the game for the massive change rather than the few people who hate on it now for very few legitimate reasons and a lot of silly things from people who view the past better than it is.

You'll probably rebuttal with something silly, though, like you do every time. Just because it's your opinion doesn't mean it can't be wrong (saying the game is awful, for example). I'll stop replying to you now. Good day to you, sir.

I remember titan mode was the most fun when the game first came out and everyone used guns, then when people unlocked c4, nades, claymores and sentry guns the defenders spammed the titan with it making it near impossible for the attackers to get through effectively ruining the game. I remember later on everyone would just continue capping the silos even once the shields went down due to this.

Yeah...it would have been nice if using ordinance inside the titan had done damage to the titan in some way...even still with good team work, good timing, and a little luck you could get through the spam defense. Plus if there were enough people on the titan for a PERFECT spam defense that would mean you could have one squad attacking and the rest could easily capture the towers. If it was just one squad you could get through. Either way was a win. I actually liked it when I found bunch of red dots on the titan. Plus you could wait a bit and then you'd have them get bored and leave...then it was easy pickings.

So it was a game of balance...

That's actually a good tactic! xD

I wish there was a way to implement a version of titan mode into the next Battlefield. I don't really see how it would work, though. frown.gif

If they didn't want to futurize it they could have military bases with power plants of some kind or a map where each team started out on ships that were floating near the shore and the goal was to sink the other team's ship...have artillery stations on the map that could be captured. Since shields are out of the question it could be automated turrets that would be insta-kill if you got too close, but after a certain amount of damage they would go offline.

probably a million different ways it could be done if the developers had the slightest care to create it

Still holding out for BFBC3. They said a long time ago that it's not the end of the BC series. I hope it doesn't go the same way BF3 did though, with all it's DLC and such. But it probably will anyway...

That's kind of what I was thinking. Start a movement to show DICE that you want something like this! They've been really open to community feedback so if enough people wanted it, they would probably add it (Possibly in a expansion?).
