Really, if the cards are voltage locked there just may be no reason for water blocks besides possibly reducing noise. Stock air coolers have gotten good enough that they can easily handle overclocked stock voltage GPU's.

yeah that's probably true, aesthetics come into to play too I guess. Although I would assume Nvidia would have a pretty nice looking aircooler for a card like this.

We will see. I believe the 680 launched at $500, but we are 1 year further ahead. I don't know how it is in the rest of the world, but in the US the price on nearly EVERYTHING has gone up due to our great economic situation. My guess is we will see the price go above $500 for this factor alone.
