In the meantime Nvidia will bin more GK110 cores from the Tesla production, the chips who didn`t meet that quality criteria. After that Nvidia will continue to sell new Titans with the market screaming for more since they envy those who got to buy the first 10 000.

After all, Titan will beat all 700-series GPUs except dual ones, so the demand will always be there.

I hope not.

I want to have a Titan and lol @ people that wish they had one.

Just read up on quantity and its looking to be about as rare as a GTX 590. GTX 590 only had about 2k for europe.

Tell me about it. I've got the s27a950d quite close to my 42" LG IPS Tv. When you duplicate desktops, I'be never had anyone who could tell which was ips and which was not unless you looked at an angle because the 950d is just that good at color reproduction.

Yes exactly Nvidia`s intentions. Let people create a fuzz, not them. Pretty brilliant (and cruel) tongue.gif

2000 GPUs and that was that? No more was ever made?

I have it exactly the opposite , there's a huge difference between my LCD and LCD LED monitors , color reproduction , contrast and sharpness is much better on LED screen.

aaaaanyay I'm really looking forward to this card if it's performance is matching or even very very close to my GTX670 SLI i will grab one , i really want to get rid of SLI.

I think, if they've produced 20K of the Teslas for that supercomputer, have to provide replacements for those 20K cards, plus all of their other corporate customers WW for the forseeable future, and with the lower yields on the 28nm fab process, they are going to have quite a few (100K?) Tesla "rejects" or Titan candidates for quite a while to come... Nividia will undoubtedly only allow a limited number of these to hit the market initially to increase demand/price and maximize their profit margins. They might also insinuate that this is a "limited run", when in fact this product could have a very healthy shelf life. They'll probably meter-out these cards slowly in batches to keep prices artificially inflated until they can produce something else more powerful and cheaper (i.e. the GTX 880), or until Tesla reaches EOL.

I am going to go with basic logic here, but we all know that never works when applied to real life scenarios. Nvidia has to know this chip will be for the moderately hardcore to extremely hardcore gamer/enthusiast. If they know that then they also have to know most of these people will want more than one. I bet there are a ton of people on this site, and others, that would pass on this if they only had the chance at one. If this were the case NVIDA would be ignoring the lower end market, the high end enthusiast market, and be selling to a person who has a single 680 and wants better performance, but doesn't want to deal with SLI. Talk about a narrowing your market down really fast.

Any card that falls in between a 680 and 690 is expected to do this though. A 680 is great for single monitor 1080p but falls quite short for 2560 resolutios despite what some people on OCN claim. The Titan although more powerful still doesn't quite cut it for 2560 resolution as a single gpu. At least it won't max out some of the more current demanding games and maintain 60fps. A 690 or 680/7970 sli is needed to achieve this. Its magic is what it hopes to do in Sli. Like others including myself have said numerous times. Most who can afford this card wan't 2 not 1. One Titan would be a downgrade for most who already have top tier gaming rigs. As a single card I don't believe this card carries much value at all considering its 900 price tag. The market for this card lies in Sli or Tri-Sli. And if the 10k units is true I believe Titan will be a huge failure. That simply won't meet the demand unless they are bringing in more each week. But that I seriously doubt.

Agreed, I game at 2560 and currently with two 680s, I cannot get silky smooth 60fps at all times with several - maxed out - games...1 Titan would be a step back (or side step at best), so I'm getting three or none biggrin.gif And as availability looks increasingly bleak, I'd say, I'm in for none at the moment :'(
