The Fatality Z68 Gen 3 board he has should support PCIe 3.0 even in SLI.

Edit: Yes, it looks like it does use PCIe 3.0 switches, so it should be good to go.

This. I have had 2 sli setups and one of my close friends has had 3. The only sli issue either of us ran into was my 560ti sli causing glitchy ai in one level of metro and nothing else. So I fail to see where these people speaking as if sli problems are daily occurrences are coming from. For a combined total of 6 years worth of sli usage to have one small glitch, doesn't seem that bad... [/rant]

It's the same as driver issues in general, a handful of people get them and everyone assumes it's common...Generally going for brand new architectures/cards is where you're more likely to run into bugs, but if I got a second HD7950 or GTX 670 SLI then I'd be fine this late in the generation.

You can't use a SB-E processor with a Z68 board, but Fatality Z68 Gen3 with an Ivy Processor's PCIE controller it can get 3.0 rolleyes.gif

Well, if you were actually sherlock, you would have deduced he was talking in general terms and not only about the z68 board. I'm thinking you're more of a Watson myself.

Pretend to talk in general terms when the topic is centered on whether you can get PCIE 3 on Z68 boards doesn't excuse one from not reading the original question, the question was centered on Z68 Gen3's PCIE3.0 lanes and not knowing that before responding is completely irresponsible.

I jumped straight to the last post in this topic, and added in a bit of general knowledge.

Is there a problem?

That is not a problem, it is just not relevant to the question at hand(as it was about what is necessary to get PCIE3.0 on Fatality Z68 Gen3). Plus you need a patch to get PCIE Gen 3 support on X79 platforms for Keplers so what you said wasn't 100% accurate either.
