Looks like you doctored the photo. The text below should have been visible too with that technique. Nice try still I have to say.

Wow, first post, and accusing people of shady things....Not the best way to start off here at OCN.

All he did was draw contrast out, so that anything that wasn't pure black could be made visible again. Hell, look at a few of the facts before you point fingers at people...

  1. We can already see a G.
  2. We can see, as I showed, a T under magnification.
  3. We know the score is just above what a 690 does at factory clock.
  4. We know that a 690 with a decent OC can produce those numbers.
  5. The website producing the screenshot is known for fakes.

That said, I am not surprised to see "690" when contrasts are set apart.

No one even needed this image to realize this story was fake.

Can anyone else duplicate the 690 lettering with contrast adjustments? I'm not seeing it -- I used Gimp. A photoshop of a photoshop, how fitting!

The "690" text is added in, you can see that it isn't on the same level as the rest of the text on the line. Just compare it to MrTOOSHORT's validation.

This rumor is suspect, but no amount of Photoshop trickery is going to completely dismiss it.

Not that I still believe these rumors but:

Why is the 690 text the only one that was revealed by this? The TX part of GTX is no more visible than it was before and the date/time the score was validated isn't showing at all even though it's the same font and color as the 690 (or should be if it actually says 690).

The 690 numbers also seem to be 1 pixel too high (draw a line in paint/gimp just above the G and it will cover the top of the 6,9 and 0.

Bah. I must admit, I didn't take notice. Mainly cause I thought I could make out the 6 and 0 anyway and thought that just confirmed it for me and didn't bother to look any closer after that. Easy to get fooled on the net redface.gif

But if you guys look really close, considering the GTX xxx characters are different color than the black lines used to cover it, it looks like you can see a curve that would be from a 6, whereas a 7 wouldn't have a curve on the left hand side like ( ... Again, could be wrong...

If this costs less than $700 I'm going to be very fiscally irresponsible.

I noticed all of those things right away without even looking that close before I even read your post. I would say its pretty obvious.
