Corsair CX-430 enough for GTX-260

Thread Starter
I pulled a GTX-260 (EVGA 896-P3-1260-AR) out of my kids computer for an upgrade and am thinking about replacing the 6750 in mine. I lose DX11 support but the card looks to a be a lot more powerful). EVGA recommends a 500W supply with a 36A max +12v. But when I enter my config after replacing the video card in this calculator http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp I get:

minimum PSU wattage - 330
recommended PSU wattage - 383

My config:

PII 840 oc to 3.6, 1.42v
Biostar A780L3G
2x4G Samsung DDR3
1 SSD Intel X25V
2 HDD (WD and Seagate SATA)
1 CD/DVD RW IDE
3 fans
1 wireless PCI card
6750 replaced with GTX-260
3 USB devices (backup drive, USB hub, misc low power stuff like flash drives and card readers)

The CX-430 is spec'd for 430W with 32A max at +12v. So the concern is the 12V amperage. But the GTX-260 is supposed to be 182W max, It's been a while since I got my BSEE but there is no way a 182W card is going to pull 36A at 12V (P = V*A = 12 * 36 = 432W). I know engineers like to over specify things to provide a margin of error but this seems ridiculous.

Should this work OK, or what am I missing?

Thanks

Oh good, I've been looking for a good power supply to run all the parts I need.
