How do you make a loop REALLY glow? - Page 2

My loop is pretty bright with when I turn on all 6 cathodes. I also have a full size blacklight mounted on the desk behind the techstation if I want to get better pictures. Here are my pics I took. I took them at low res for the sake of the Website

The LED is 5mm one just so you know. This wont make the loop any better but if your water has die in it it should light it up.

First pic. Light adjusted on my camera to eliminate hot spot.

Pic2 taken with my best Macro Light still adjusted to almost the lowest setting

Pic3 is same macro same distance with normal brightness

pic4 far off normal brightness no steady cam and No iso adjustments on my normal shooter

Pic....ummmmm Scrolls up to check.... Pic5 is what happens when you lift the LED off a little bit it works very well this way.

Pic 6 Is of the light shining through the Res

Thats it... Digging through my parts bin to see what else I have

What lines? The fluid lines? They will not be illuminated by the LED. It has to be alot of cathodes or a few well placed UV cathodes with UV reactive die. Mine is UV reactive. I found another LED that is 3.7 volts that is blue but brighter than the 5v LED. it is 2600mcd vs 300mcd that the 5v had. I will be hooking it up to the aux in a few seconds. pics to follow.

Part number for radio shack is
276-316

Post duble up for new pics. This is the brighter LED. It is alot brighter. It is like a spotlight compared to a dollar store flashlight

Anyways. this is the way to go. Less voltage and brighter than most LEDs. The pics dont do it justice.

Here they are

Pic 1. Like I said. It is a spotlight unlike the other

pic 2 is the dull LED Huge diff!!

Pic 3 is the diode from the side. I cant take a pic from the front without total loss of focus

pic4 is shooting the side of the res

pic 5 alien tractor beam on the res. LED @ 2 feet away

Pic 6 just a side shot hitting the res lost focus

pic7 from side showing light filling the res. 2 is all I would need to illuminate it well.

pic8 is at an angle about 6-8 inches away. very bright as you can see.

cheapest dye i found is at Kragen auto parts. Radiator leak tester called UV tint. My loop has a similar glow, cept' I used a smoked tubing for a dull glow. I have heard that WaterWetter is UV reactive..its pink though, not green.

Check out my mod in my sig.

I used Danger Den MCT-40 coolant. I also put in a little more Frozen CPU green dye. Dye is what makes it. And tons of UV lights.
