Wrong thread man, this isnt where we praise Dolby Headphone (which I have on my xonar, and its awful even on my old HS1A which was made with 7.1 emulation in mind) or CMSS3D.
Neither emulation method works well, it just sounds BAD in every possible way. Heck it doesnt actually emulate the channels, it just spreads the sound around, not accurately cause the cups dont have more than a driver.
Its like turning on a filter such as "Arena" it just feels, bad. But then again if you buy a pair of emulated headphones and turn off the emulation, they will sound bad, so if youre one of those who have emulated headphones, and have nothing to compare to, obviously youre gonna defend the emulation to death. Cause without it, the headphones sound like something worth 2 dollars.
Dolby headphone does NOT improve 3d positioning than normal headphones, it makes everything more air-y and inaccurate. Its called placebo, especially if you aint got nothing to compare to, i.e. proper headphones.
And "True" 7.1 headphones like that Razer one wont actually work well, the drivers are too close to your ear so you dont get an accurate perception of location. If you want true surround you get a surround sound system, not a headset that emulates it. If you want true and high quality reproduction with great positioning in both games and music? Go buy headphones.
