Of course not all the water will flow through the fins, but forcing that scenario would mean a very large pressure drop, and my pump has 700lph, but only 1.35m of head pressure (and a super-glue fixed impeller...
). Thus I am better off directing water to
the fins and make it revolve around them, than rather trying to force it across
them. If I was using a DC12-400 like I do on my main rig, I wouuld have used a center tab to force water to cross the fins instead of just 'spraying and praying'.
I think it can work well, but we'll see
