Suddenly high ping in l4d2

Thread Starter
How on earth, can my ping go from 25-35 to up minimum 85 and as high as 150?

I only play l4d2 in my rented server. And my ping always been below 35. But suddenly one day, my ping skyrocket for no reason at all. I changed nothing in the server, nothing in l4d2 (besides download new model replacement. But even after I removed those, nothing changed), nothing in my router. Nothing anywhere I changed.

Before:

After:

When I do a test at speedtest.net it wont start at all, when I click on "start" But if I chose a different server in my country, it does work however. And there, the results are max 10ms

I also did a test at pingtest.net. Also max 10ms.

What can be the cause of this?

The server is not under any attack either. As only my ping when doing full 4 co-op changed, to be so high.

I have a screenshot ready. But there seems to be alot of sensitive data in that test, to expose on a forum?
I dont know.

Should I run that tracert thing again, once my ping in l4d2 goes up again, so I have two comparisons?

photochop the image to hide sensitive info.

If ping in l4d2 went down, then perhaps there was an issue with servers and network from whom you were renting server from. Thus they resolved the issue and your ping went down.

I have no idea what to hide, as I know nothing about network and stuff like that.

I got two screeshots with results. One normal, and 1 were it goes bad.

Like for example here is a traceroute from my home Router to Google. As you can see eveyrthing is still there except for the fact I removed my names from my town, and just made sure my External IP wasn't being shown. Other than that you don't have really too much you need to hide.
Just make sure the ping is consistent over the hops as having higher pings might mean there is load issues on that hop or other factors. Especially on the first hop which is not applicable on my end since I am already in my Router but potentially your home network load.

I dont know.

What I dont get, is it happens in both my l4d2 servers. And when I invite steam friends, their pings are normal. Only my which is the highest. I have also played a bit killing floor, I have no issues there.

ISP says they can't see anything wrong at all.

A few hours later, everything can be back to normal again. And my ping, is what it used to be.

High ping result:
