P8Z77-V Deluxe, Corrupted file issue on both Marvell SATA connections

Thread Starter
Need help on an issue I am having… I have an ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe motherboard (Rev1.02) I am having hard drive problem on the Marvell connection. I am getting corrupted files when I download from the internet and/or transfer files to those hard drives attached to it.

I have 2x Corsair GS 180GB in Raid-0, (connected to SATA 6.0gb) 2x Corsair GT 120GB in raid-0, (connected to the SATA 3.0gb), 1- Plextor PXB320SA-12 Blu-ray, (connected to the SATA 3.0gb), 1- LG DVDRW Player (connected to SATA3.0gb).
Then I have 1-WD Raptor 150GB (connected to the Marvell SATA 6.0gb), 1-WD Raptor 300GB (connected to the Marvell SATA 6.0gb)

I have changed out different hard drives, and it seems to make no difference. I get no error when you look at file, but if I try to install a driver or program from these drives; I get corrupted installs every time. If I install from the Intel connections, there is no problem at all.

Was checking to see if anyone else was running into this issue, and/or has an idea to what might be going on. I have installed the latest drivers, and I have went back to old ones, i.e. 1.2.1014. This issue is still there, I have even reinstalled Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, 4 times to see if this is the problem.

Help on this would greatly be appreciated.
Thank You

I recommend putting the optical drives on the Marvell ports so that all of your other drives can be on the Intel ports.  This should clear it up.

TwoCable, Thank you for the fast response, I do appreciate it.

Sounds like a good idea, but I thought if you connect the optical drives to the Marvell connections, you can’t install the Window’s OS from a DVD at the beginning. Is this not true?

Again Thank You

P.S. I forgot to mention the Bios that installed; it is the 1805 with the modd, 11.6.0.1027 rom. I download from this site.

I'm not knowledgeable about modified BIOSes.  I'm sorry.

I also don't know if it's true about connecting optical drives to the Marvell ports, but I don't see why it would be.  All I know is, the Marvell controllers are horrible and should only be used by optical drives if the Intel ports are all filled up.

I'll offer this thought though:  if you can boot from a drive that's on the Marvell controller, then you can boot form an optical drive that has a bootable disc in it.  :)

Did some more testing, and found for me, you can't connect the optical drives to the Marvell connection, system will not boot.

For me it looks like you can't just connect your other hard drives to the sencond set of Intel SATA 3.0GB connection, and make it work. frown.gif

I think there's more to it than that, perhaps due to the RAID setup.
