Don't feel bad, it got me too at first. thumb.gif

Yeah, I had to zoom in to see I was looking at the floor of the top chamber. doh.gif

thanks for the link now with these results i am thinking ill have the intake either be on top... and have the rads blow out... or have the rads intake cool air and have the exhaust from the top. not sure which one but i still have to check as the rads are not sandwiched together and the performance drop might not be as low as in his findings. plus im all the way up in Canada... so the cold north might make the temp difference negotiable. either way ill have to put together the system 1st. smile.gif

Im in the great white north too....hey! smile.gif
I would try both ways and see if you get any temp differences.
Warm air rises, so you would be better off pulling from the sides and pushing out the top. If you got the meshed top cover that is.

Why would you need any more fan mounts?
If you just have the two rads as they are installed but they both pull in fresh air from the sides and that will naturally exhaust throught the top. Where would you install an other fan/rad mount in there?

you make a good point. ill probably end up doing that. but i can get a few top mounted fans but i would need more fan connectors.

which i dont have atm. so ill prolly just go with your suggestion. intake into the case and let the hot air raise out through the top.

Mine will have the botton rads in push/pull and taking air from the floor and push out the sides.. And the top ones will take air from the sides in push/pull and push out the roof. No fans in the floor or roof, just on the rads.

The problem I have is that I am afraid the top rads will pull in air from the sides and some of that air could get pulled down by the bottom rads. So I will have to seal the bottom rads chamber from the rest of the case to make sure it is only sucking air from the floor and not the mid or top chambers.

thats a really good idea. although i think there is plenty of room for you to not have to worry about that.

i would do something simmilar only i need the bottom for cable management and i need 3 fans blowling up at my raid controller so that it doesnt over heat while i find a way to water cool it.

A DIY block ......that'll be interesting!

I'm also working on something like that for the CPU. A block that could change the way we water cool, if my idea works. But can't talk about that.

cool fill me in when you are able. maybe not so much DIY but who knows maybe ill be able to grab some time on at my dads work and cut out a copper block.

on a side note. i ordered 6 typhoons to replace my yates loons and noctua fans. the noctuas are going inside the case to cool the raid card for now. also got a bunch of cables to make the back not a total mess.

thinking of switch th fan controller to a 6ch lamptron touch. and add koolance qd3s between the mb components so the tray can be removed wiht more ease.

this should be good while i figure out how to dis assemble a aquarium chiller in the bottom compartment.
