Wanted:
WTB Asus P6T deluxe or Sabertooth or possible Board/CPU combo

Will Ship To: Anywhere

Hi All I am back on the hunt. I have been out of the Picture for a few months now. I have spent the last months in and out of the hospital again but before this last bout of hospital stay I was looking for a replacement for my P6t Deluxe V1.

I had bought one here in the forum before my I ended up in the hospital. I did not have chance to even open the box on the board I bought till yesterday to find out it had a bent pin on the cpu socket.

So any way I have saved up about 200$ to find a replacement heart for my very sick main rig that took a hit when my Primochill Typhoon split internally and stopped circulating water and cooked my NB and possible my 920 CPU. Thanks to Primochill. By the way never by anything Plastic made by them its all junk.
My old thread should still be in the forum if u care to look.

The easiest swap for me would Be a Asus P6t Deluxe v1 or 2 with hope this would not break my win 7 install and save me a lot of trouble to not losing and data or my install.

As my luck last time do not go well at this point my hopes for a easy fix is get very unlikely.

As I am disabled and live on a fixed income my money is very tight and the pile of doctor bills from the last months are not helping me much either. I could use a little help here. So a fair deal would be a great help. and my last attempt to get this rig going already cost me 60 bucks I did not really have to spend.

So Believe my Main board to dead bu it may be my CPU is shot too and have not way to test the CPU and I don't have a working X58 board to test it.

I would like to start with finding a board but a board CPU combo would be best. The I could test my MY I7 920 that did clock nicely to about 4 GHZ for all the years I had it with out trouble.

So bottom line if you have any gear like a main board or CPU mainboard combo to help me out for a fair price please PM me or re: my post here.

Thanks for your Time
Any help in the matter would be a great help
TIA

Check out ebay. My P6t went out after about 3 years, I grabbed a used but perfect condition exact replacement for $85.

If you have a PC shop anywhere nearby see if they can POST test your 920 to make sure its not fried.

Thanks for the reply but I live it a pretty lonely area and the PC shops we have here are crooks.

I really don't mind if i get a extra chip when I buy a comb here. I can save mine if it test good for my wifes PC. I still have hope I might be able to fix the one bad pin on the PT6 Deluxe I got here last time.

I am looking on Ebay now as well, but I like to get my stuff from the guys here as I find them to be a better sort of folk then on ebay.

If someone sell there stuff here Ebay don't have to get there chunk and the seller make out better and most time so do you as the buyer.
The people here have been very helpful for to me over the years, so I go to Ebay as a last resort. I will give the guys here first shot and if nothing turns up after a bit then I try Ebay.

Again thanks for the reply and your time :-)

That sucks to hear. Have you tried straightening out the CPU pin on the board you bought with the bent pin? That might work.

I would also contact Primochill. They should compensate you for their product failing, causing other components to go bad. It's worth a try.

I have an ASUS P6T Deluxe V1, but currently in use. frown.gif

Well Primochill did replace the rez once when it cracked at the mounting hole once for me when I first bought it they even had some sort of recall on it. They claim no responsibility for any damage to your Pc if there part fails. They would only replace the unit. They pulled the product off the market pretty fast hoping to cover the screw up but it did not do me any good it was to late the damage was done the plastic they used just broke down and became brittle. The rez even came with plastic fitting that after about a year just kinda disintegrated with just plain distilled water in it.

The typhoon rez was a good design for running a dual loop but tne material it was made from was garbage it just.. I mean when the little fitting broke they way they did I should have pulled the unit but I thought it was just that the fittings where just garbage were and the rez was made from Plexi or Lexon and that just the fittings themselves were where cheap plastic. I was wrong the whole rez was made out of that garbage. I could not see that the internal seems had split of the pump chamber. So the water was churning inside the rez and not flowing thru the system. so as the split slowly open more and more my machine started to run hot. I did have the temp shut down set in my bios but i thing the board had been running right at the edge of over heating for some time. Once it did finally hit the fail safe temp shut down in bios. I began to started checking the system and found out that while the pump looked like it was pumping just fine there was no flow in the loop.

At that point I pulled the res made a t line rez. I thought i had saved the board and chip it booted up fine the first time after priming they system loop and was run nice and cool like it should and all at once it shut down and no longer would boot at all just giving me a error on boot. No my Cpu was first in the loop followed by my northbridge . I figure that as the fl;ow was reduced it kept my CPU just below the threshold for thermal shut down but the northbridge was running even hotter and was almost ready to die.

So that is why I have hope for my CPU it never ran that hot as I had CPU shut down around 85 C but the northbrige was running much hotter and on the last boot even once the flow problem was fixed the extended period of running so hot that it was the northbridge that popped not he CPU. I hope anyway.

Now for the one bent pin on the replacement board I got from the guy here in the forum. I think since it only the 1 pin maybe able to be fixed but I need to find a real good Magnifying glass and as a needle might do the trick. Its just one pin and it not like it was FUBAR it just a bit tweaked..

So at this point I guess if i am going to fix this think I may as well update the board to the Sabertooth 1366 version and see if i can just a OEM Win 7 and if widows invalidates my key sould be able to a least moved any important data from OS drive to a storage drive and reformat mt OS drive.

In the long run it will be better to have a board that has maybe 4 years warranty as it was my board died 2 months out of warranty. I think most of the P6T deluxe board would have little to none left of warranty.

I did just now get outbid on a Sabertooth with 4 years warranty by 10 bucks ;-(

I would still take a the P6t Deluxe for a good price

Well I struck a bit of good luck and got a new OS yesterday. They had some sort of a glitch over there at MS and I was able to buy 3 retail windows 8 pro for 14.95 each under there promotion that is u bought s win 7 PC in the last few months. You just had to enter the model Number or the unit and the price of the Win pro went from 200 to 14.95 so now I don't have to look for a P6T Deluxe anymoore.

So Now I would like to find a Asus Sabertooth or a Asus Rampage and of the better models that had 5 years warranty. Woot that was so cool. this should make it a bit easier to find a replacement .

So if you have one of the newer Asus boards that have the 5 year warranty for a good deal let m know. it not that i think it will have 5 years left on it it just that it a better chance to have 2 or 3 year left on it

So tried to repair my Asus P6t Deluxe that had the bent pin in the cpu socket with no luck the board won't post so that one is shot or my CPU is bad too.

So I might need a CPU too now
.

So I would be looking for W3570 or w3580 Xeon CPU as from what i see they are not locked. I seen a few good deal on Ebay on the Xeons I would even like to get my hand on a ES chip mostly peps sell them pretty cheap compared to the retail chips.

BTW Update one of the guys here in the forum might have a Sabertooth X58 for me

I am rethinking this whole idea now i have a brand new OS I don't need to find a old P6t and after reading how problematic the Asus Sabertooth is. I think my self smarter to just go with another up to date board other then the sabertooth like a rampage or something. I am, sorry if i was so folks time. I think i need to step back and really think about the best way to go so if you see the thread close its becuase I am writing a new one.

Thannk all that have reponded
