100% aluminium case design

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

I have always liked the look of brushed aluminium - and i could not find a case that had the right look to match my preference (as well as size) so i decided why not design and build my own 100% aluminium case.

I wanted a big case cos lets face it - bigger is better. I started designing with a size in mind: 600mm X 600mm X 300mm.

I also had a cool idea of mounting things to the front of the case such as dvd drives, fan controllers, reservoirs and fans+ radiators. I wanted the whole front bezel to be completely dynamic so i could have anything in any order - such as a dvd drive, fan controller and 3 fans+radiator. I also wanted to put a 360 rad in the top aswell so that is a total or 6x120 radiators to cool anything.

After about 2 hours of hand sketching followed by CAD, i made this:

Front:

Top (i know it is a little plain but i dont know what to put on the top):

It will be made out of 3 or 5mm thick plate aluminium and will be screwed and not riverted together and then be brushed downwards.

What do you guys think - please tell me i am welcome to ideas

Thanks
My Precious

It looks awesome. I once made a case that had large openings onto which smaller sub-panels were attached.

The idea was if an area of the case had to be re-configured, only a small panel had to be fabricated. thumb.gif

That is awesome Spotswood - that is pretty much my aim/goal for the case: for it to be dynamic and interchangeable in a way that i can have all the choice that i want. If you dont mind me asking, how much did it cost? (just so i have a rough idea of what it will cost me)

I really love full aluminum cases, and I like your optimization for watercooling. Maybe a little bit wide. Also, I dont agree with the window but thats a personal preference, I like my cases to be as minimalistic as possible so I like square windows, tongue.gif

But good job, keep it up! biggrin.gif

Thanks mate, Im going to have the windows square and only show the motherboard, the psu/drives and cables wont be seen. And the reason the case is wide is cos i want to put all cables and SSDs+HDDs behind the motherboard tray so the only thing you see is psu motherboard and watercooling pipes.
