Cleaning Machine OUT!

Thread Starter
Ok so I have a home-built PC. Temperatures seem to be rising in my case and I want to clean it out!

Thing is I don't know what to use to clean the dust out.

People are suggesting to me to use an air compressor instead of canned-air.

If I was to buy canned-air It would be this - http://www.staples.co.uk/computers-drives-accessories/computer-cleaners/hfc-free-air-duster-400ml

Or this - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-010-OP
Which would be best?

OR the other solution would be an air-compressor.

I have no understanding of these things so I wouldn't know what to buy...
Like some i have seen the cheap £20-£10 ones look like the ones u would use for car tires -.-. So... i dont know.
If i was to buy an air-compressor I would not go over £30.

So guys help me out please!

You can use both. The big issues with air compressors is condensation coming out and spraying on you computer.
You want to stay about 6-8 inches a way from computer parts with a air compressor. This also depends on how strong the compressor is.
To Help with the condensation you can put a rag/sock over the tip.

hmm I might be doing this today as well, but everything is coming out, not only to clean it up, but try and fix some wires

Good Luck! thumb.gif

Condensation isn't a problem with a properly maintained compressor.

Any small hobby compressor will do, you don't really need a big one unless you want to do other things with it. I also suggest them over canned air as canned air runs out quick and each bottle is quite expensive, a compressor will last you for years if maintained properly.

Invest in one of THESE, one of the best purchases I've ever made & it comes with a 5 year warranty. You never have to worry about buying those canned air again, a compressor imo is too much just to clean a PC.

All hail Datavac lol. I second this, get one of these and you don't need to worry about cleaning your computer again. Dusting a computer takes only seconds, plus it saves you a lot of money in the long run. If this is available to you, get it, you won't regret this purchase.

Yet another satisfied customer of the Metro Data-Vac here, been using mine for 3.5yrs+

I also use it on my mountain bike because the trails around here are very dusty - and plan on picking up a good extension cord to use it on the interior of my car.

Perfect little machine with a very hefty, solid and high-quality feel - it can be disassembled with a screwdriver and the bottom filter is easily removed and cleaned without tools.

Steel body with plastic handle and assorted nozzles.
