What does the core-priority = low setting do?
The core priority will raise the core priority of the FaHcore process, the default is a core priority of idle, so low is an improvement. To enter this into client v7 go into configure, then the slots tab, then select your GPU slot and click edit, then at the very bottom under the extra slot options hit add, then in the pop up enter "core-priority" in the name field and "low" in the value field and save your changes.
I think with the history of drivers on your machine, both a less than flawless Nvidia driver install, as well as older AMD drivers still present on the machine that you should at least do a complete driver sweep (both amd and nvidia) from safe mode before installing the 266.66, if not a complete OS reinstall depending on how much of a hassle that would be.
Sorry that I couldn't be more help earlier but for whatever reason I was having trouble coming up with useful suggestions, but thankfully others were able to keep the ball rolling.Edited by juano - 2/3/13 at 1:01pm
