Need help overclocking my 7950!

So, I have been running my card for about 3 months now at 1150/1575, on 1180mV core.

My afterburner won't let my memory go any higher, however I have seen people who have achieved 1650 or even 1700 on their 7950s. I was wondering how? Catalyst wont let it push any higher, and same with afterburner.
So is there another program that I can use that will? Or maybe there is a trick that I am missing out on. I'd say my card can probably handle more than 1575, considering overclocking to my current setting was a breeze and I had it running FurMark for 24 hours with out any hick-ups.

Any and all advise is greatly appreciated!

try using trixx to set the oc on both the core and memory, then open AB. adjust voltages in AB. that's how i do it. others do bios tweaks or whatever. i only oc for bench and games like metro and c3. the rest of the time it stays stock. carefull on the slider and clicking the APPLY button.

stay away from furmark. use heaven, 3D Marks and your games as tests.2cents.gif

thats a very good memory overclock you have got. the HD 7950 is not bandwidth constrained. you don't gain much by memory overclocking in games. focus on core clock increases if its possible as they give almost linear performance increase. thumb.gif

Well, just managed to get a 1200/1650 OC with 1200mV with Trixx, ran the burn-in test for 10 minutes, I know its not really a long time, but still got 0 artifacts or any problems. Will game for a bit, see how it turns out, and will report back.

So i have it OCed at 1200/1650 stable, played crysis 3 for about 3 hours, and BF 3 for about 2 hours on all maxed. No glitches no nothing, its been 2 days now, so hopefully it's all good!
Surprisingly going from 1150/1575 to 1200/1650 increased my average in BF 3 up 3-5FPS. In Crysis it also seems like its higher, but due to the fact that right now the FPS is so random on the game, I can't tell if its just the game or the card.

thank you all for the help biggrin.gif
