Whats up guys,

planing out my upcoming Fractal design Fractal build, came across a bit of a hiccup, i want to put a fan controller in the bottom 5.25" drive, but it cant be any longer than about 70mm long. it has to fit between the frot of the case and the tube connecting the 240 and 360 rad...

halp

The BitFenix Recon would fit. Its listed as 67mm deep, but aside from the mounting arms its a good 10-15mm less than that. I kind of wish I would have gotten the Recon instead of the Scythe Ive got. I like the touchscreen interface.

awesome! thanks very much for that. +rep for sure.

also, after a quick read through of a review, that fan controller can turn off fans, how awesome is that!

The more i read about the bitfenix recon fan controller the more i like it. its going to fit in the space that i have for it, i like the asthetics of it. i think its going to work out!

but i do have a question, one of the features of the recon is that it has 5 temperature probes. This fan controller can turn off the fans...

baisically, i want to know if i can put a temperature probe on the top 360 radiator, when im just browsing the internet or what ever at the computer is at idle, i want those fans to be off, then when i start gaming, obviously the temperatures will go up and i want those fans to turn on. is this possible?

You might have to contact the manufacturer about that, or maybe find an owner.

I found some software for the recon that would do it though. You can set fan curves. They include software with it, but apparently there are some things it cannot do, so someone wrote a different controller for it.

if i could put a probe on either the 360 rad or in the immediate area of the processor where it reads the temps of the cpu, and turns on and off the fans on teh top 360 rad accordingly. that will single handedly be the greatest thing ever since sliced bread...

I'm can't speak to the OEM software but ours (Phoebetria) certainly can turn off the fans at certain temperatures...

I have that setup as we speak on my development box smile.gif
