AMD FX-6300 / nVidia or AMD GPU ?

Thread Starter
Hi guys, I am building a new budget gaming system for my son and I wonder if The AMD FX-6300 will benefit from more from having nVidia or AMD graphics card .. Or does it not matter at all ?

This is my current setup:
AMD FX-6300
Asus M5A97 Pro
Mushkin Redline 2x4GB 1866MHz
Samsung 830 256GB
CM Silent Pro 700W

Video card: AMD or nVidia ? Does AMD CPU and chipset benefit from having AMD GPU over nVidia ?

Thanks.

it will be easier to setup two cards in crossfire with an amd chipset motherboard.
Some boards require you to do an "sli hack" if the board only supports crossfire and you plan on using two nvidia cards

I live in Iceland.
My budget for GPU is wide since I saved on the rest .. I can get a Radeon 7950.
My monitor resolution is 1920x1080 (running an Asus 120hz 3d monitor).

I don't think it matters. Get what your money can afford and go with it. AMD gives you more frames in some games. Nvidia gives you more frames in some games. To me it's a wash. Either company makes a good card.

get the Sapphire HD 7950 boost. 233 pounds. works to 267 euros. best value for your money. an average overclock of 1150 mhz on the HD 7950 would give you HD 7970 Ghz (1050 mhz) performance.
