[Android Headlines] Why Android will continue to lead in both software and hardware this year

Thread Starter
After the disappointing announcement of both the iPhone 5 and iOS 6, with the latter not having introduced anything new from the WWDC event in June, and after Microsoft’s stumbles with Windows Phone 8, it’s safe to say that Android will continue to dominate in both software and hardware this year, especially if there will (most likely) be another version of Android coming out this year.

It's too early to be saying this.
For all we know Apple or maybe Nokia (and WP8) could pull ahead with some new OS features or hardware advancement.
Also, I don't feel android leads in software at all. Yes it is popular but it still feels clunky.

This is a prediction/opinion piece from September of 2012. I'd hesitate to call it news then, but it definitely isn't news now.

Eh. Android is my platform of choice, but Im not sure it dominates in software. I like it, and I like the open source nature, but because of that, the market is flooded with just as much crap as gold.
Hardware...well...the high end phones tie the Iphone, and the Droid DNA dumps on all of them...so its definitely way ahead in that area.
And I think it will continue to be at least on that front.

Not a news post.

That said, iOS sure is getting stale. I do love the hardware of my iPhone 5, however. It just feels so good.

Maybe on a 3 year old ARMv6 with a kernel capped at 30FPS.
