Overclocking My EVGA GeForce GTX 670 4GB Superclocked

Thread Starter
EVGA really came through on my RMA. Instead of sending me the same card, a EVGA GeForce GTX 670 2GB, they send me a EVGA GeForce GTX 670 4GB Superclocked, which retails for about $100 clams more and it was brand new in the box.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with it and what kind of numbers I should be experiencing?

If this is the one with the backplate on it you will need an aftermarket Heatsink to get a decent overclock, even while trying to OC my card 50Mhz higher the temps quickly got higher than 72C which is where the card starts throttling anyways. Not to mention the cards stock fan can get loud anyways.

I haven't really tweaked with it much after that but I figured I'd let you know the stock HS sucks for OCing. tongue.gif

You have to remember that each GPU is the same as each CPU, it's always different and you always have to play the silicon lottery when it comes to what OC numbers you're going to get.

With that said, looking at the 670/680 owners thread majority have been able to hit at least 1050+ boost of course on the clocks.

If you're playing at 1080p (1920x1080) you should be good with the card since it really maxes things out at that resolution.

Enjoy your new card!biggrin.gif
