Don't risk getting PC2 6400 Dominators, the newer versions use the less overclockable "PROMOS" ICs.

Crucial Ballistix DDR2 1000 FTW.

the hz'z are good but so are the ballistic, ive got both the hz and ballistic in 6400 flavor and they perform the same in my situation, since the ballistic listed is ddr2 1000 for the same price and im pretty positive has d9's in it i would go for that considering its the same price

edit ahh wait cheaper then the corsair and hz

He has a point. The Dominators are now made with PROMOS instead of D9 MICRONS. They are far less overclockable.

Curcial owns MICRON so they most likely have D9s.

Why not just get the cheapest D9GMH which I think right now is Buffalo Firestix.
All the ones suggested are just the same D9GMH chips. You might as well opt for a E6400 instead, try D9GKX, or save the money.

Heres a set thats supposedly D9GKX

Now, between the Corsair and Crucial, I'd definitely go for the Crucial because that version of Dominator have PROMOS ICs, except for the DDR2 1066, 1111 and 1142 which have "hand-picked" Microns, those are totally worth it "IF" you have the cash.

I like the Crucial because they do have Micron D9s and that's what we overclockers want.

Wincet also recommended another great choice, the SuperTalent which have some nice ICs for overclocking but........I'm yet to do my research on SuperTalent.

I'd also like to recommend Xtreem DDR2 800 $288 from tankguys which advertised in this forum and have their own "section" for us just in case we have any questions. That's 110% great customer service.

So:
1-Crucial
2-Xtreem
3-G.Skill
4-SuperTalent

In that order is what you should consider. And either choice it's going to be a kickass choice.
