Somethings not working on Win 8

I did buy Windows 8 few weeks ago but I was wondering that when I install it I noticed for somereason that some of the OEM softwares don't work on this system. The original OS that came with my Sony notebook is Windows 7. Also it looks like it auto detects video drivers but I don't know where did it came from since on Intels website there is no driver for Windows 8 for the Intel HD the original one. Is it ok to use the driver it downloaded even it's not from Intel? Or did it install a driver from the Intel HD 3000 for Windows 8? I know that it didn't use Intel HD 4000 drivers since the version is different.

When I said softwares don't work like the Alps Pointing TouchPad software or Intel PROSet/wireless Wifi software.

use windows update to update your drivers, otherwise 7 drivers should be safe.

Well do I need the TouchPad software and the PROSet/wireless software also? How do I make it work for Windows 8? Since when I tried to upgrade it it gave a message saying it's not compatible with Windows 8.

windows 8 has builtin wireless management, you likely don't need the wireless software as it's built-in.
does your touchpad work? is it just software or a driver?

It just says it's a Touch Pad Driver control panel when I click about and it's from Sony. The Touch pad does work so far but I just didn't know if there was something that would help the touch pad when you have that driver installed. They have things like easy launcher and mouse properties. I see it on the right side of the taskbar where it loads all of the start menu items.

the alps software is not necessary.

windows 8 builds on windows 7s driver compatibility; chances are any extra software that was bundled with your laptop is already taken care of from within windows.

Oh ok so I don't really need the Alps software thing. But are you sure that about the video card that I can use the drivers that Windows 8 auto detects? Meaning I don't have to use drivers from Intel to install it? You said that Win 7 drivers will work so if I used that driver from Intel for my IGP will it work forsure? Or are you sure that I can just use what Windows 8 detects and auto installs?

There another software that I had to uninstall is WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software. But does Windows 8 have it also?
