recommend me a mechanical keyboard

Thread Starter
Hey all,

I am looking for a new mechanical keyboard, currenly have a steelseries 7g.
Its has "black switches as you guys might know .

Now I am looking for a new keyboard,

with the following,

red switches
palmrest
red led's

and if possible with

macro's
volume control

So if you have any recommendations that would be super thumb.gif

And I should notice aswell that I am not someone that wants a keyboard that looks like a cyborg or something else childish.
Just something plain simple not with big logo's or anything printed on it.

And build quality should be aswell good.

I hope I am not to picky but I will only upgrade if the keyboard is to my liking.

if this had red led's....otherwise a great keyboard. quality is among the best i've seen. palmrest, macros, volume control. not too cyborgish. someone will think of something that hits all of your wants though...

You might want to eliminate coming with a palm rest from your list of criteria, since the best palm rests are ones you buy separately anyhow.

Also, don't use an apostrophe when pluralizing.

Back on topic, though, perhaps a Ducky? It can be had with MX Red, red backlighting, and volume control, and is pretty mature-looking (by backlit keyboard standards).

ducky shine 2 or cm storm tk, with a separate wrist rest biggrin.gif
post #5 of 8
The ducky shine is the keyboard that fits all of you requirement exactly thumb.gif

Specifically this one: http://tigerimports.net/sunshop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=12131
Wristrest: http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=91

Sure, its not cheap. But thats the premium you pay for the best in build quality, red backlight, red switches, and simplistic looks.

Hope this helps biggrin.gif

As stated before Ducky Shine II is a fairly clean keyboard. I've had mine 2-3 months so far and love it. The CM Storm Trigger is available in MX reds, has a wrist rest, macro keys and media controls if you can accept the light branding it has on the front. Amazon has the Trigger on sale for 109 in the US.

will have a look at the ducky shine 2, but I am guessing I will have to need to make my own wrist wrest then out of wood.
Ducky makes a leather wrist rest for their keyboards as linked in a previous post. I have yet to pick up one I'm using a cheap gel one I got at Frys till I can get around to ordering the one from Ducky/Mechanical Keyboards has them in stock again.
