ASUS VG278HE vs. Yamakasi Catleap vs. Crossover 27 - Page 2

Oh BTW

60 fps with 1440p is less demanding than 120 fps with 1080p.

Battlefield 3 at HIGH settings will give you 60 fps. Battlefield 3 at Ultra settings will give you 50 fps. Roughly

Crysis 3, everything Maxed but 2X AA gives me like 35 fps smile.gif

Crysis 3, everything High with 2xaa gives me around 55 fps.

Long story short 670 is a very good GPU for 1440p. Don't worry.

Thanks for the feedback! I will definitely be getting either a catleap or a crossover.

I have a Yamakasi Catleap. It is great but I like the stand of the Crossover better.

However both o them gives the exact same picture quality.

If you are a competitive gamer, the VG278HE is better no question at all. Smoothness beyond belief and a 670 will do fine.

If you are a cinematic gamer, or edit photography and all that and want better image quality, then your IPS choice is better.

I've had both, and recently sold both an IPS and a VG278HE, keeping my VG278H - I'm a gamer smile.gif

late to the party, I am a FPS freak , i love my bf3 (more of bf2 but owell) fast pace and faster aiming is what i do. I hate the delay in 32 inch 120hz tv. or my 42 inch plasma , But my monitor i love 120 hz 90-120 fps= called a hacker alot. Not the best player but ya fps driven or flying 120hz.,. i hate mouse input delay.

You want the VG278HE over the IPS displays definitely.

Actually this is an experience that difers from a person to person. I have a Korean 1440p panel and their input lag is less than Asus, Dell monitors. I am still usualy a MVP in BF3. I also do agree that 120hz is a smoother experience but 60hz is also still a very smooth experience too. I switched from a 120hz display to 1440p gaming and I honestly can not see a difference in the way I play competitive FPS games. I am a gamer too and I would take 1440p monitor any day any time due to better colors and Pixel density.

Your TV will never give you 120hz in gaming because you are connected via HDMI. YOu will still get 60fps. And TVs are a different thing and they usually gie you mouse delay, besides Plasmas I guess. A tv is not equivalent of 1440p monitor. Not by a long shot. You will notice mouse lag in a TV for sure but never on a 1440p monitor. Especially the Korean models.

I tested so many different setups in the laSt year

1-) Samsung Led TV

2-) 60hz 1080p monitor

3-) 120hz Acer Gaming Monitor with 2ms

4-) 1440p 60 hz IPS monitor.

Samsung Led TV gave me good colors but terrible mouse lag.

My 120hz 1080p Acer was a better experience than a 1080p 60hz monitor

However 1440p at 60 hz is the best experience I ever had in games. Including BF3.

Think about it.

Would you guys go for a 720p 120hz monitor or a 1080p 60hz monitor.

Same story with 1080p 120hz and 1440p 60hz.

1440p is just much better looking.

Being said, I want to add that these are my personal thoughts. Everybody's thought will differ.
