I run 2 GTX 580's and have no problem with BF3 on ultra, I think a GTX 670 would be fine but I would get the 4 gig vram version. my next build I am going with 2 670 4gig vram cards as it performs so close too the 680 but is over a 100 bucks less

if you run games like BF3 at higher resolutions then 1920x1080 your vram will get used up real fast.

x58 is true pci-e 16 X 2
no your board dose not need to be swapped.

i would not get 670 ot 680., i would get a 7970. best bang for buck. faster then a 680 and cheaper why waste cash. also in past year amd got alot better with drivers. my 580 does not like all the 3XX driver only the newest beats dont crash on me smile.gif

If you got extra cash get a good after market cooler and overclock cpu to like 4.5 ghz. i like 4ghz on my chip alot less volts the 4.2 + ghz. As my chip take alot of power but it old tech now but runs with the big boys still.

i have had bad experiences with amd when i first started pc gaming. i got a x1550 and it failed on me with in the first 2 weeks i had it never overclocked it or ran it hard. never had a problem with an nvidia card thats why i am leaning more toward nvidia.

i had a 7800 geforce worked for a week died, had a 1950pro needed unclocking on ram my 4850 was a pile of &^%$. My current 580 need rma and this is a rma.

All depends on chip and if you got a good card or not. amd good now and the 7970 is king and 7950 overclocked is faster then stock 680. Both 680 and 7970 overclocked the 7970 is king. I like a long time warrant with my cards, i like evga for geforce and xfx for amd. the x1550 was a crap card anyways. my 1950xtx was fast and was a great card, my 260 285 and 480 where great. had alot more older cards cant remember them all to many.

I am hardcore Nvidia but I must say AMD is making pretty good cards and drivers these days while Nvidia is lost on good drivers lately.thumb.gif

get a HD 7950 boost for USD 300. overclock it to 1.15 ghz and get HD 7970 Ghz performance. the crysis 3 and bisoshock infinite game bundle makes it even more to decide. thumb.gif

sapphire and gigabyte have very good coolers.
