I don't believe it is disabled... but rather for system use. Read that in the same article I think

Not really sure on any of this, and have no clue where to start to look for the article.

Lol, not even sure if It would be useable.

What would Microsoft/Sony think if you sent it back to them with a different processor?!?!

Vtech, you're full of it. I have worked on over 50 xboxes and swapped the factory themal paste on the CPU for AS5. There is no CPU socket at all. The chip is soldered to the motherboard. As far as OCing, the xbox 700mhz cpu can be clocked to 1.4 ghz, but you can't game with it like that. games won't run correctly. There is no point.

Don't listen to this guy.

no actualy he isnt full of it..there is some truth..they actualy do desolder the chip and solder in a faster 1.4ghz chip..there is also a switch on the xbox, when off it runs at 733mhz and when the switch is on it runs at 1.4ghz, there isnt really any real need of the speed...just faster frames in some games, but as most of the games are at capped FPS..there isnt any real use of it...
heres some information on it http://www.xbox-scene.com/hardware/dreamx.php

I realize that, I was just saying its not as easy as opening your box and dropping in a faster cpu. The faster CPU is great if you're using the box as a media server with XBMC or as a host for LAN games. Over all, I wouldn't say it's worth the extra cash though. If anyone wants credible info on all of this just go to xbox-scene.com.

There you are and in the future try to type so people can comprehend what you are saying.

At the beginning of part 3; that looks similar to the motherboard on my laptop (I know that is the PS3's motherboard)

Seeing how it also uses a laptop (notebook) hard disk drive; I think that is probably one thing you can try to upgrade.
