cm.netseer.com Malware issue?

Thread Starter
Guys, just today, I've been getting a lot of Chrome pop-ups on several sites even here when I visit OCN home page:

I ran free Malwarebytes (quick scan) and it didn't find anything.

Firefox doesn't seem to detect it as such though.

What's this cm.netseer.com? I can't even find much about it when I google that frown.gif

Is it because I turned of the Java thing? (US Gov't. said so).

I've had the same problem as well, and the router has blocked certain traffic from my workstation claiming it was a trojan. A link to an article in the news section is what seems to have caused it for me. I though it might have been an error on Google's part at first until I saw the alert from my router.

Looks like it isn't just OCN:

https://productforums.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/chrome/kWCMjlyJmek

Google blacklisted netseer, which is causing headaches with chrome. Time for fire up Firefox?

Well if google blacklisted them maybe there really is a problem. Firing up firefox might not protect you.

It's probably an advertisement that is hosted by one of the other advertising services that is the issue. Not OCN's fault and probably not the advertiser, but you (OCN) might want to review who you have delivering that content.

This was caused by Google classifying netseer as a malware host after their (netseer) corporate site was compromised. We have removed and blocked netseer from our ads and they are working with Google to reclassify them as safe.
Just to be clear no malware was on OCN or the ads provided by netseer but because netseers corporate site and their ad network share the same domain name Google classified the whole lot as unsafe.
