Looking for a new AM3+ mobo

Thread Starter
Hello there ladies and gents I am looking for a new AM3+ motherboard I want this motherboard to be extreme (one of the top ones) and pricey, (as I am planning to put a lot of money into it) I am mainly looking for something that has a very nice BIOS layout, easy overclocking, basically a all round beast.

I can order from here: http://www.msy.com.au/default.jsp?category=158&page=1

Or here: http://www.ple.com.au/

I am in Australia and both of those shops don't have EVERYTHING, so I may be limited to what motherboard I can get, depending on what they have and how much they cost, I did check the most expensive is $205 which really isn't that much, I am not sure about the most expensive one because I am still at a basic understanding level of motherboards, still learning.

I would appreciate some guidance, thanks smile.gif

Or the 990FXA UD3 very nice mobo great for overclocking! id go with gigabyte over asrock because personally never had any issues with Gigabyte and also it is very easy to overclock on, futureproof-ish (the new cpus will 99% be supported by this motherboard)

The 990FXA-D3 should be good not sure what the difference is between them is tongue.gif but the UD3 i know has cooler on the power phases which isbetter for overclocking wink.gif

I have had the first revision of the ASUS Sabertooth for the last year, and it has been a very solid board. Great components, cooling, and options.

I have been folding with that board for the last year and it has never given me any problems. For $205 that is a very good board.

Check out the Sabertooth Club for any questions you may have about the board.

If you're going for extreme and want to spend a lot of money, I'd just go for the Sabertooth R2.0. It's by far the best bet out of the selection and has a nice UEFI bios and great power phase design. The color scheme may not be to your liking, but its your best bet for the best of the best.
