Out of curiosity (most likely going to ask for my money back) would you think it would still operate? If so you think there could be any detrimental effects to PC (operate inconsistently) or even damage the mobo?

That's burnt and lost the gold connector. Now deppending one what than pin does it could be ok but as it is burned I would say it was a power pin which is bad news. Any info with it, did it come from an EVGA board with a foxcon socket?

Yes there could be detrimental effects to the PC. Damage to the motherboard is most likely to occur.

Given that the contact definately looks charred I would not put that anywhere near a working motherboard. Your best bet is to return it for a refund if possible.

According to seller it came from a Gigabyte board. There's also some scratched metal on the edges where the bracket that holds the CPU comes down on it.
