I can get the RAM to run just fine at 1600 speed but not 1866.
I can get it to boot to windows and shut down with 1866 speed but it is not reliable.
It will fail memtest.

I tried running the RAM at 1866 speed with the slowest timings possible but it errored in memtest at about 50-60% into the tests.
If I set the RAM to 1866 speed and leave everything on auto the bastard won't even boot to windows.

I tried manually putting in the XMP profile for the RAM which I got off of some German site but it wouldn't POST when I did that.

Help?

EDIT 1:
Fixed motherboard mistake.
Tried to make RAM module count more clear (4 total).

EDIT 2:
So it turns out my problem was the CPU-NB voltage.
It was defaulted to 1.170 volts.
When I bumped it to 1.225 volts I was able to get stable OC speeds beyond the manufacturers stated timings.
I also found the XMP timings by putting the modules in my main rig.

Now I'm going to try to OC by using HTT/FSB with XMP timings.

EDIT 3:
XMP timings:
1.5 volts
9 CAS
9 TRCD
9 TRP
24 TRAS
1N Command Rate
?? TRC (not listed...going with 33 per Redwoodz advice...also this is the AUTO setting)
?? TWR (not listed...going with 10 per previous experience OC'ing this ram...also this is the AUTO setting)
107 TRFC
4 TRRD
5 TWTR
5 TRTP
20 TFAW
?? TCWL (not listed...AUTO is 7 and is stable with 1 module but not 4 modules...9 TCWL is necessary for 4 modules...will not boot with <9 TCWL no matter what CPUNB/NB/DRAM voltage I run....deja vu)

Currently I'm testing with 4 modules trying to get a stable number based on all the information I've learned from the XMP timings and previous OC testing.
Not running a FSB OC at the minute...too much instability and variables there.

EDIT 4:
Here are my best timings:

25 passes
0 errors
42:23 hours (so lonnnnnnnnnng)
222 FSB
4440 CPU
1998 HT/NB
2072 DRAM
1.2250v CPU-NB
1.20v NB

8 CAS
8 TRCD
8 TRP
24 TRAS
1 CR
33 TRC
10 TWR
110 TRFC
4 TRRD
5 TWTR
5 TRTP
20 TFAW
9 TCWL

I don't see myself beating that.
The highest POST my FSB can go is 228 but the most consistent is 222.
My highest POST for HTT is 2600@200 FSB or 2400@222 FSB.
My highest POST for NB is 2400@200 FSB or 2000@222 FSB (ugh).

I would like to figure out how to get the NB speed up just one level but I don't think it's going to happen.
I'm going to play with the numbers and see what is fastest.

Benchmarking program suggestions are welcome.

EDIT 5:
Max stable speeds:
FSB 222
CPU 4552
DRAM 2072 @8-8-8-24
HT Link 2220 (maybe 2400)
NB 1998

or

FSB 200
CPU 4500
DRAM 1866 @8-8-8-24
HT Link 2400
NB 2400

Well I'm done benchmarking with 3dmark06 and 3dmarkvantage.
You know what's funny?
The higher the score in 3dmark06 the lower the score in 3dmarkvantage.
Not kidding.

3dmark06 gets about 15,000 something (more than enough).
3dmarkvantage gets about 11,000 something (wish it was higher).

Overclocking the GPU gets some more performance but only about 300 points in 3dmarkvantage.
That GPU has a flicker issue on the default BIOS so I am currently running a modified one.
I'll tackle that issue last.

I'm also having a sleep issue with the machine....black screen when coming back from sleep mode.
Going to do some troubleshooting on that next....after I finally try some gaming on it.
I made my Cat6 cable and installed my Left4Dead and Left4Dead2.
I'm ready.

EDIT 6:
Well I figured out the deal with that GPU and it's flicker issue.
I'm pretty damned proud of myself for that one.
I registered the card on XFX's website and can you believe that they had NO BIOS fix available for the issue?
Lame.

Basically the way to fix it is to use ATIWinflash to save the BIOS then edit it with Radeon Bios Editor so that clock id 01 through 09 have the same DRAM speed of 950. This way you can have all the performance that was originally intended for the card with none of the seizure causing flickering.

But this is Overclock.net not "flickerissues.org"....so I didn't stop there.
Oh no.
Changed fan profile to 45c to 101c instead of 58c to 101c.
Changed GPU core speed to 830 instead of 775.
(CCC maximum was a mere 790...a pathetic 15mhz OC in software.)
Changed GPU dram speed to 1025 instead of 950.

Oh yeah.

Only 4GB? Something is definitely not right here. If it was a 16GB kit I'd say the IMC is just not coping, but with 4gb things are really hinky.

I've tried two 8350s which both didn't like to be overclocked with memory at 1866mhz, but those were high density DIMMS. AMD says the memory controller supports 1866 and it does, but you have to be careful. I know it only supports 1600mhz with all 4 slots occupied, so I figured my 1866mhz troubles with 2x8GB sticks of ram were IMC related.

Is this chip stock, or OCed? When I oced my chip it ran fine with my memory at 1800mhz but as soon as I tried for more than that it took more voltage and got unstable.

AMD FX has no problems with running 4x4gb 1866 on most mobo. AsRock and Biostar are the problem child when it comes to running 4 sticks at 1866. AsRock and Biostar mobo only support 1866+ in slot 2 and 4.

4 sticks will be harder on the IMC than 2. Trying raising tRFC to 300ns. That should help.

True, but I have ran a 4100, 8150, 3 6300 and 8320 with 4 sticks @ 1866 without any problems.

Juice it to 1.58v
Add some cpu/nb voltage.

It was unstable with the default turbo mode on (4.1ghz max).

And there are 4 modules total...
So does that mean it is 1600mhz max because all 4 slots are occupied??

I think I raised it to 360ns...it helped but didn't fix the problem.

The mobo juices it to 1.60v by default.
I juiced it to 1.70v just to see if it would make it stable...it didn't.

I'm going to run memtest with RAM set to 1600 9-9-9-24 and "FSB" set to 222 (11% OC...making it about 1776) and see if I get any errors.
I have the north bridge (<2000mhz) and HT (<2200mhz) underclocked and the CPU at about 4000mhz.
It won't boot at 225 "FSB".
(I'm not sure what the correct name for FSB is on this architecture so I'm just going to use FSB.)

I suppose I should also try it with 2 modules.
I also have muskin redline 2133 modules to test with.
I know filling memory banks on motherboards has been tricky in the past but I thought those days were behind us.
