Bitfenix Recon fan controller *updated*

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

i am going to be starting a new build. its going to have a 240 rad and a 360 rad to cool my 3570K and my 690.

to keep this thread from getting way too long im going to just ask my question.

What i want to do is when the computer is just idling have the 2 fans on the 240 rad to be spinning at around 700rpm and the fans on the 360 rad to be off. then, when i start gaming, and the cpu temps go up, i want the fans on the 360 rad to spin up to around 700rpm automatically based on the thermal probe i put near the cpu.

is this possible with the recon?

thanks!

wasnt getting a reply here, from emailing, calling or on facebook from bitfenix. so i decided to just buy one and try...

it doesnt work :/

if you have a fan off on a channel, and set a alarm temp, and the temp goes above that alarm temp, the fan on the channel doesnt turn on. Just the alarm goes off and thats it....

Have you tried Phoebetria?

The only caveat with our software is it has to be running. It puts the Recon in manual mode and we regulate the fans ourselves.

The automatic profile in the Recon are very limited, as you found.

Look for the software auto dialog to configure, also make sure you setup a start up and shutdown profile in the preferences.

I have two, software auto for start, and hardware auto for stop.

Hmm, so I assume I'll have to have the usb connector hooked up to the mobo, then install the software?
If this will let me do what I want with it, that will be so epic!

Make sure you connect only the connector in the middle of the usb cable from the Recon..

I got one coming in the mail. I'll be able to answer your question in a few days.

EDIT: Nevermind, looks like you already bought one.
