Putting together for a friend and it will be a bit before we toss it underwater and this would be a good air card for the time being especially with the current sale and game coupons.

The HIS boards are custom but follow the reference format. There's been some question over their choice of vrm controller on the regular cooler card. This one should have unlocked voltage, but you still have to be careful because it is a blue board, ie custom. You can get the bundle at amazon too and they are a lot easier to return things with if you didn't like it. The sapphire 7970 oc is good and of course there's the faithful diamond 7970.

Looks like old faithful is the most economical water option as of right now. I had hoped to find something with a decent stock cooler to start but oh well.

This is the card you were referring to right TSM?

It won't accept a block will it? Thought you and I discussed this before.

The 7970 OC w/o boost is the black pcb. The OC w/boost is the blue pcb. You want the plain Jane OC card w/o boost.
