no internet

i just installed MCE and when i click on set up or change you connection it takes me to the internet properties and when I click set up i go to advance connection options and there it just freezes or when i click any other option its not connecting nothing

can you guys help

Did you install the drivers for your network card? If onboard, check the CD that came with the motherboard.

i tried to get the drivers from the asus CD but its saying the RPC server is unavailable. ***? when i go to the network connections and click on set up home or small office network nothing happens theres no internet explorer on the desktop nothing...what do i do

is it because it doesnt have an IP adress and all that junk? I got in LAN and i went to repair the 1394 connection and its saying: failed to query TCP/IP settings of the connection

1394 is not your Ethernet.. it's your FireWire connection. Is there any other network hardware showing??

you can use firewire for a network can't you? i did it once i think...

Did you read the link I sent? It sounds like the rpc server is not being started (which controls internet connections) you need to manually start it, the instructions are in that article I linked.

I got four network connections....1 lan, 1 ethernet, and 2 1394 connections...If the board has two ethernet jacks then try the other one...Then check the properties and see if it is set to obtain an IP automaticly

i went into your link and i went into command promt and typed in ping NetBIOS and ping DNS and nothing happened...i did the other thing too and it didnt work
