How do you draw the conclusion that this is them being desperate?

Indeed this is them being on top of their game since the result is Nvidia owns crown gpu Nvidia makes the best gpus in the world (that is what a regular person thinks)
So regular person goes to the store and buys a junk low end card yeah nvidia is the best blah blah.
Amd however stated they might counter it if they find it necessary however I yet don't see how.

10k is a pretty grand number

K, I was wondering if any other site has released that info after we updated our article with the info.

AMD's only counter is a true reference release of the 7990 and that is two GPUs fighting one. That would still give NVIDIA the single GPU crown. AMD has no counter here, even their 8000 Series in Q4 will most likely not get close to Titan.

So Nvidia is only making $1 a card on them? rolleyes.gif

xbitlabs mentioned the 10K number: http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/graphics/display/20130213151212_Nvidia_to_Speed_Up_Launch_of_GeForce_GTX_Titan_Reports.html

It's nice to see XBitLabs a full 22 hours behind us biggrin.gif

I was just wondering if anyone revealed their source for the 10k number, we didn't and for good reason wink.gif

Roy Taylor said this: Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Code:
"We aren't afraid," says Roy Taylor, a corporate vice president and head of AMD's global channel sales. "We have new products. We have a roadmap. We are not sitting still, we do not lack resources, and we do not lack imagination. Let me be clear: The new products will be a new architecture."

When asked specifically about the Nvidia GeForce GTX Titan—a rumored top-of-the-line card based on Nvidia's powerful Tesla K20 offering , supposedly being released soon—Taylor said "We'll wait and see what Nvidia comes back with, and when it arrives we'll deal with it, but we believe we'll maintain leadership. I'm a firm believer in bringing back the old GPU wars. We're taking them on again."

They might have something on their hands after all or they are panicking as we speak to put a product together.

They are not nervous because titan is going to be a niche product, and if nvidia is coming out with this it probably means that the 700 series is not coming anytime soon.

I don't see how you draw this conclusion, NVidia is raking in the money with 670/680s. They are doing quite well, the marketing wars have little to do with a companies approach to business when they are selling things just fine.

If its true, and not just necessary product backing and support, then awesome. When GPU wars start, we win.

There is absolutely no logical reason to draw that conclusion from this statement.
