660 Ti or 7950 for Crysis 3? - Page 20

7950. You get a free copy of Crysis 3 and Bioshock Infinite.
7950 definitely. More VRAM is better. 2 GB is hitting the limit soon. People have said they get almost 2 GB VRAM usage.

And with drivers still improving the 7950 will be better than the 660 TI.

Funny op question been answers and this is still going. Also i would not buy a card just because it comes with free games with it. Regarding to the question 7950 > 660 Ti

I installed a $300 msi 7950 in a friends computer. I was able to get the core to overclock to 1200 MHz at didnt exceed 64C and with 3 GB of video ram the thing is a beast pegging over 9000 in 3dmark 11. I didn't run crysis 3 with it but considering that my aging gtx 480 only scores 6369 and handles the crysis 3 on the High preset at 50 fps with FXAA and anisotropic fitering at 8x. I thing the msi 7950 would work quite well

Dude... you shouldn't be happy with the first benchmark you find which happens to have your own GPU on top of a much more powerful model which is in a whole different category than yours. 7950 has much more processing power than 660ti and in many cases and especially in future games it is much more better performer than 670. A decent OC model can get very close to 680, or even past it. Here we have a real benchmark of final Crysis 3 product, made with neutral german accuracy. And just for you ppl to know if you didn't knew already: 7950 "boost" is the version 2. BIOS which is the stock card atm.thumb.gif

whatevery you say to him won't matter. biggrin.gif he is here trying to convince everybody that HD 7950 is in the same class as GTX 660 Ti. everybody else in ocn knows HD 7950 OC, GTX 670 OC, HD 7970 OC, GTX 680 OC are all close performers with average overclocks considered (1150 - 1200 on tahitis and 1250 - 1300 on keplers).

In that case dont get either. Neither card will be able to play very high settings with any type of AA other than low or off completely. frame rates would be god awe full.
