Latest? No. Drivers improve by the day, whether nVidia or AMD. You can't assume game performance from a beta.

there has been tons of threads on OCN and other forums asking about micro stutter with AMD 12.11 beta drivers. It was common knowledge that AMD GPUs using 12.11 beta drivers stuttered in games like skyrim. If some did not notice it that's good for them, but many of us did notice it.

Saying no one noticed is insane, when you can simply google AMD micro stutter and 12.11 beta drivers and get tons of results

let's wait for the finished product and see then so now we'll agree to disagree.
we'll come back to this because going back and forth is not my style.

There will be no "I told you so". Hah, when the HD 7970 results came out back when the GTX 680 was clearly better than the HD 7970, well, weren't they for a treat with 12.11.

And after those drivers OCN became a super flame war 7970 vs 680. And just FYI, the 680 is faster then a 7970(be it very small), just not a 7970GHz.

Yes, I know. The problem I see with recommending an HD7970 is just that. Many recommending it plainly say "just overclock it" without looking at the GPU lottery. Overclocking, setups, RAM, motherboards, etc. come too much into play when such close competitors are put to test. Clock for clock, the HD 7970 is faster than the GTX 680, however (if I can find that thread).

Back on topic, pick whatever GPU you like better. Or what's cheaper.

Indeed, it is faster clock for clock. But thats like saying Intel Sandy/Ivy is faster clock for clock then its AMD counterparts. They are completely different architectures so it is silly to say tongue.gif
