Not worth the effort then IMO unless you need more CPU horsepower immediately.

Prices arent going to go down. They do right before release to clear out old stock but then come right back up. Look at how high prices are for 775 and 1156 still. Haswell is supposed to be 15% faster than ivy or so they say. Ivy was a 10% increase from sandy. So haswell will roughly be 25% ahead of Sandy if any of their numbers are true. Id wait. Thats why I skipped Sandy and Ivy.

Worth for who? You can't really expect us to tell you if we don't even know what you do with your comp... I know that im not waiting at all, neither Haswell nor the next in line.
the way i look at things now, if youre the type of person who wants the latest and greatest, wait. otherwise both sandy and ivy are more powerful than what 95% of computer (enthusiasts) even need. ive gotten to the point where im not even running overclocks anymore because they make zero difference in daily use except if you need to boost epeen stats with benchmarks.

so my vote if youre looking for something more powerful, buy whats current now and dont worry about the small increase youll get by waiting another 6 months for the next gen stuff.

I get that but why limit yourself now if your going to spend the money.

If you're buying new fair enough but if he's going to get a bargain on SB, chances are he'll be due another upgrade by the time PCIe 3.0 becomes a must
