I also noticed that my GPU clock, meanwhile im running test is droping from 1050mhz to 501mhz.

But how can i disable powerplay?

with unofficialoverclocking without powerplay, your card core shouldn't be flunctuating like that.

Don't know if this is the right place to post this but here it goes and I hope you guys can help me...

I just purchased a gigabyte 7950 3gb card and my brothers dumb ass just installed a bios upgrade "so he thought" and it was this " Tahiti_PRO_Boost_BIOS_Jul12_2012" I'm pretty sure this wasn't right and was trying to tell him that.

Now I can't open ccc it will not open at startup and I try to use gigabyte easyboost to change the bios and it doesn't highlight the bios mode to change it.

My question to you guys is this...... Is there any way possible I can flash the right bios back to this card or is it dead?

Thank you and please help as this was not my fault and now i'm paying the price due to him.

I'm sorry if this may be slightly unrelated but I didn't want to start a new topic just for this.

I'm pretty new to all this graphics card stuff (well, just computer building in general!) so I apologize if I don't know certain terminology and stuff!

I recently built my first PC, with this 7870 Myst card. I just wanted to check that the card was okay before I cut off the UPC/SN for the rebate and I think someone suggested the 3D mark 11 test?

So I ran that and here were my results at stock (I didn't change any settings, just as it was):
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/6051854

Now, I don't really know what these numbers mean but I assume that my results were a little on the low end? Is this normal?
I think I saw someone else do the same benchmark but their scores were a lot higher (in the 8000s maybe?). I can't seem to find the link to their benchmark though..
EDIT: I found it (was actually someone who posted on these forums):
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/5906439

If not, are there settings I can tweak or something to make it perform better (or at least average, I guess). I don't plan on OC'ing yet though!

Thanks in advance!

EDIT:

So being the noob I am, I didn't know you can OC GPU and CPU. I wasn't planning on OCing my CPU (don't have proper cooling), but I did manage to test it at 1200/1500. I think..
Here are my results:
www.3dmark.com/3dm11/6060402

Will OCing my GPU (to,say, 4.0Mhz) change this significantly?

Mine bombed out maybe 35 secs @ those settings. How are you able to achieve those?

Your card is being throttled somehow. Here is my score at 1175/1500 http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/5933523 and its a 9100 graphics score. You should be around that # with your 1200/1500.

Have the same issue with my 7870 myst tahiti. Overclocked to 1200/1500 and only getting arround 8300 for my gpu score. Mind you, this is a fresh install of windows 8 too.

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/6067628

Will report back if I resolve the problem.

I've only been used CCC to overclock with. The guys who have scored above 9000, are you using another program to overclock with?
