quick question regarding crossfire

Thread Starter
I have my 7870 and I was interested in getting another one and running them in crossfire. My question is I do not have to get the same exact card, but as long as it is another 7870 I am fine right? I know 7870s have slightly different specifications depending on the manufacturer will that impact anything at all? Also lastly, if I crossfired a 7870 and a 7850 wouldn't that lower my 7870s specifications down to a 7850 in crossfire?
