[Build Log] Vulcan

Well, I tore my system apart, painted it, and added a third fan to my Antec 920. I used 3 cans of Krylon Fusion paint for the case and it took a few hours. As for the water cooler, I bought 3" #6-32 screws and trimmed them to about 2.4". I screwed these through the first fan (in-between the front of the case's bezel and the body), the second fan (visible), and into the radiator.

So above is where I was last summer with the rig. I'll post some newer pictures below. However, I also wanted to post my specs for anyone who was wondering.

That looks really sweet, haven't seen an orange build in a while.

nice rig... and whats your cpu temp with it being at 5ghz with that (iffy) water cooler? i run my i5 at 4.7ghz with an xspc triple radiator and get a steady temperature of 35C

While running Prime95 I get about 82C on the hottest core in a 22C room. The machine is 12 hour prime stable, but I can't get it to go to 24 hours. However, it's stable enough when I get into windows and for gaming and blu-ray encoding. I just wish my motherboard wasn't so weird when it comes to overclocking. Before I disabled the power savings features, the rig would be fine for a few hours of prime but then crash when it was idling after a few hours. Plus when you set voltages with it it's an offset rather than a direct voltage.

Do they make that in mATX size? I thought about getting an Asus Gene or Gigabyte Sniper board, but I'm just going to hold out and get an ATX LGA 1150 board when I rebuild inside a Cooler Master HAF XB.
